This historical tour allows you to learn about Jamaica's colonial and slave trade history. You'll visit the settlement ruins of the Tainos, who were the indigenous people of the Caribbean and the earliest people enslaved in Jamaica. You'll also walk the grounds of a fierce British and Spanish battle to capture Jamaica and control the slave trade. From here, you'll continue the tour through the rainforest to visit the Lodge Yard, a former slave plantation. Throughout the tour, you'll learn about the plights of Tainos and African slaves and the tactics used by colonial powers to trade and exploit slaves. To round out the tour, you'll visit a viewpoint used by the infamous pirate Captain Morgan to plunder ships entering Port Royal.
