On this tour, you'll discover the natural beauty and historic role of the Green Grotto Caves. As your guide takes you through the cave complex, you can see the cave paintings and pottery fragments left by the Taino Indians who used the caves as shelter. You'll also learn about later inhabitants including the Spanish who fled British invaders through cave tunnels to Runaway Bay and runaway slaves hiding from capture. You can also find out about where the Jamaican government stored rum barrels for safekeeping during World War 2 before heading back to Port Antonio.
