This tour will take you around Lake Akan on an 85-minute steamboat cruise and provide you with the opportunity to get to know the marimo plant or algae balls at the Marimo Exhibition and Observation Center.
During the cruise, you will get to see the lake’s scenic spots and be treated to breathtaking natural scenery. You will also likely be able to catch sight of a few marimos on the surface of the lake. In case you do not, you will still get to see the plant and learn interesting facts about it at the exhibition centre.

Bus: The nearest bus stop is Akanko Onsen, served by the Akan Line. Akanko Onsen is about 75 minutes from Kushiro Airport.
Train: The nearest train station is Kushiro, served by the JR line. Once at the station, head to the bus terminal and board the Akan bus. Get off at Akanko Onsen. The total travel time is about 110 minutes.
