This guided tour will give you the chance to visit Sri Lanka’s ancient capital and see two famous Buddhist monuments.
Starting in the medieval citadel of Yapahuwa, Sri Lanka’s capital during the 13th century, you’ll explore a mountaintop fortress and take in views of the surrounding lowlands. With your driver-guide, you’ll head to the Reswehera Rajamaha Vihara temple to see the Sasseruwa Buddha statue.
You’ll round off the tour at the nearby 5th-century Avukana Buddha Statue, which was carved out of a granite rock face by an unknown sculptor.
