This 90-minute tour will provide you with the opportunity to explore famous sites from the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. Aboard a helicopter, you will be flown northwest into Golden Bay for a landing on Mount Olympus, a movie location for the south of Rivendell. Throughout the ride, your pilot will tell you interesting facts about the sights.
Afterwards, you will fly south towards Mount Owen. Along the way, you will be treated to a bird’s-eye view of the vast wilderness of the Kahurangi National Park. You will land at a site with a good view of the rocky landscape used as the base for scenes depicting the exit from the Mines of Moria. From here, the short flight back will reward you with views of Tasman Bay.
