If you're looking for a rustic oasis in an urban jungle area of Chanthaburi, only minutes walk to the beautiful old town, this is it! The view is 5 star at sunset looking out over the river with the rumble of the Chanthaburi traffic hurtling past. As a travel Youtuber I look for accomodation that is unusual and visually interesting - and Chanmel Riverside ticked those boxes for me. The room was bigger than we expected and comfortable with good wifi. Above all Mook, who worked on reception, was extremely helpful, suggesting where we might visit (mangroves, beaches) and even more importantly arranging our onward journey to Koh Chang. Her colleague took us to the bus stop to catch the minivan - extremely helpful. There was a barbecue most nights which was very enjoyable too. Staff were helpful with any requests and happy to offer tips. Was a short walk to the waterfront area. Very quiet and had a nice rooftop terrace where you could watch the sunset.

The room is just like the pictures and the view sensational. Great sunsets. The pool is quite refreshing and you can have fun putting back the mosaics that are leaving its place... :) The staff is really nice and attentive. It's a 15-20 minute walk to the centre but there are restaurants, supermarket and coffee shop within 5 minutes walking. Try French toast at Jules Diner and salmon teriyaki at Zymon (delicious). Sweet Moon for deserts (not to be missed).
