Planning a trip to Zanzibar my wife and I didnt know where to start, we didn’t know someone who visited the island and we didn't want to consider a travel agency’s advice (we had a bad experience before) so we decided to take matter in to our own hands and research our own options. Most of the research was based on reviews- we noticed there was a lot of complaints about internet speeds and salty wash water. We understood that this is not an issue that pertains to a single resort/hotel these are issues that are to be expected if you are in an island in an ocean so we kept an open mind about that. Our plan was to find a place where we can just disconnect from city life and just enjoy nature with all its glory. In our search we ended up finding a well maintained, safe, friendly, heavenly, and ocean front place which was LALA LAND Lodge! Its just amazing how peaceful and quiet LaLa is, all you hear is birds and waves! At night the sky shows all its glory since there is little light pollution on that side of the island. The lodge setup is green, with a wonderful room distribution, besides being established on a nice coral cliff with a tiny staircase to the beach. The service staff are just superstars! Shout out to Hassani and Eva for all the support and kindness! Chef Yuzef with is out of this world h delicious specials, what a darn good chef ! Breakfast fruits are served fresh, really fresh!!! Adding to that the tasty masala tea and local coffee … it was just all so PERFECT! This review wouldn’t be complete if we didn't mention LaLa’s management Starring the Super Host Ben, his beautiful wife Frida, the adorable prince Harris, and the awesome Trae. There are not enough complements to do the Hospitality Ben and Family showed us; in fact they really made us feel like we are home by making sure ALL of our needs were met and in some situations exceeded. I really can’t thank you enough guys!

I enjoyed by stay at Kizikula , I don't think any other resort can compare and I have been to a few! I especially loved the design, intelligent, simple and yet timeless - there was a visual harmony that reverberated throughout the entire location, Kizikula is the place - the food was fresh and well prepared, everything was excellent! The facilities were great, I felt there were several things to do and it was the right mix of interesting places to sit - I haven't seen this intentionality in design anywhere else.

Lovely lodge. If you want to really get disconnected and away from city life, this is the place! All the huts are within 200ft of the beach and the lodge is isolated and quiet. But an easy walk into the local village of Kizimkazi, or a taxi ride to Jambiani, Paje and other haunts. Hotel owners are gracious and attentive and the staff delightful!

Absolutely amazing place unfortunately we only booked one night at the end of our trip but we would have loved to stay longer. Lovely location at the beach, very quiet and amazing to chill, super friendly staff and we loved the meals at the restaurant which are freshly homemade. Rooms were very clean and comfortable the whole place is decorated with love - we can recommend Mama Root totally!

We had an incredible stay at Promised Land Lodge. it is paradise. Nice and chilled and good vibe at the bar. the staff are phenomenal. Definitely coming back again, cannot wait for the next visit. Thank you to everyone at the Lodge. We enjoyed the food, the drinks, the ocean, the service and the Lodge has so many lovely areas to relax with hammocks and loungers and a beautiful pool, lovely hot shower. Everything. The resort is positioned in a tropical nature, surrounded by beautiful flowers and trees. The rooms are phenomenal, you have a large swimming pool, jacuzzi and private beach. The food is delicious, the resort offers wide variety of meals, the fruit is out of this world 🤩 not to mention the employees - the sweetest and kindest people. He will really make you welcome and provide you with the experience you’ll never forget. Definitely coming again!

The selection and quality of meals were exceptional. Leaving very early and got our breakfast at 4.30 AM - we appreciated it! The pool was clean, no complaints. The Zumba lecture with Lukman was great - should be announced more, we found the only announcement in the daily plan in our room. We liked the cocktail menu in the beach bar.
