This hotel is a true jewel at the lake Mergozzo. The owners are present daily, at least in the evening. Everybody has been very friendly and helpful, from arrival to departure. Parking is available nearby (5 minutes walk), loading and unloading of baggage is possible in front of the hotel. The entire building (which has been orginally erected in 1620, hence the name) has been fully refurbished until one year ago and is maintained in perfect condition. A minor problem with the shower drain in our room has been fixed within a few hours. Our small dog was welcome as well and felt at home immediately. The food is very tasty, the champagne list (!) runs more than ten pages, followed by a very impressive wine list. This is a place for enthusiasts. If you want to have a meal at other places, there are many opportunities in close walking distance. We have had a wonderful week at Casa Castagna 1620 and will definitely come back. Thank you once again for making this a perfrect holiday !!!

Unique location in the middle of the park, full of nature, greenery, fresh mountain air. Quiet and charming! We took a family suite and it's including two (!) separate wooden cabins in village style - kitchen house and sleeping house. Stylishly designed and super comfortable. When you enter you feel like a home. The host a very welcoming and helpful in anything you can imagine. Lake is near, many hiking track and other places of interests are nearby as well. Perfect for family with kids! The walk-in shower just amazing! We loved everything and will remember our stay with warm feeling for a long time. Thank you!

Everything was perfect! The rooms are very clean, quiet, ... The refrigerator in the room was definitely a big plus! Excellent hospitality, nice breakfast, ... Maurizia did her utmost to make us enjoy our stay. Great host. Good restaurant nearby. Only 15 min. walk down to Mergozzo, where you can find some nice restaurants as well. Nice starting point for hikings. We will definitely stay here again.

Everything is perfect. Pictures are true and accurate. Spacious room, clean and very nice & new modern bathroom, kitchen too, super clean, wifi great (good for those who work online), all the little details, it's really great. Parking spacious, free, easy to find, adress is correct. And, most important, private. Recommend. We even extended our stay by 1 day because it is great.

Ornavasso is a very beautiful quiet town and this place is just as peaceful, its so clean and well designed w nice interior, the bed was so comfortable I had a very good sleep. The hot water in the shower and the functional kitchen is perfect. Location is 10 minute walk w a beautiful view of the river and mountains and sigma the supermarket if you need to biy something.... the Italian lady did her best to communicate with me she was so helpful and accommodating.. and Mara the owner did her best to find a way for me to get to a train to Milan so I don't miss my flight in Malpensa going home to the Philippines.. because of cancelled trains that day, she drove for me w her car along w her hubby to Verbania which is a main station and with that I made it on time..I am.so grateful to them, felt the hospitality and kindness ❤️ Grazie mille 😊
