Shekhar is very generous with sharing his time to show guests around the hidden gems of Bhaktapur and knowledge of Nepali and Newari culture. Staying here wasn’t just a place to sleep, it was an experience of getting to really know the city and Nepali way of life. Staying here also reminded me of the important things in life - good company, community, music, spirituality, art, food, learning and exploring. It was one of the highlights of two months travelling Nepal which speaks volumes :)

Manager and all the staff are exceptionally kind, nice people. In addition, very helpful. He helped me with everything (instructed lost taxi driver on the phone, explained ongoing ceremonies), always with that kind and genuine smile of his. Location couldn't be better: 1-min walk from main square (tall temple). Rooms are clean, everything is working, soap and toilet paper provided, clean sheets + blanket. Would definitely go back. Nice rooftop.

It’s a very old house with a warren of rooms and walkways leading to them all. Each guest can squirrel themselves away from the hubbub outside (it was Nepali new year) and rest in the cool and quiet. The owner and staff go out of their way to help with any query and the breakfast and coffee are delicious (esp the royal curd).
