Situated within 700 metres of Praia Da Laginha and 1.1 km of Torre de Belem, Orietta Residencial features rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Mindelo. The property has city and inner courtyard views, and is less than 1 km from Capvertdesign Artesanato. The accommodation offers airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available. I chose Orietta Residencial based on exceptional other reviews, mentioned facilities and friendly atmosphere, and proximity to the Port (for travel to Santo Antao), main streets of Mindelo, and Laginha Beach. In all cases this was a fantastic choice. The Italian couple who run Orietta, and their team, are unbelievably friendly and helpful with a determination to make even the smallest stay perfect. The location is on a quiet street very close to everything, and with an amazing interior courtyard. The top terrace overlooking the pool is a nice relaxed sunny spot for breakfast but also to work and in the evening to have a few drinks during sunset. It is cooler and less rushed and noisy than the rest of Mindelo, away from some of the hassles in town. The room was cool, very tidy, with everything you need, including a marble bathroom with a large, reliable shower. Everything was spotlessly tidy and clean and the terrace area is perfectly designed to allow guests to feel at home and to easily relax. As the hosts also made is possible for me to arrive early (from the airport) and leave late (for the port), I can say with certainty their only focus is the well being of guests. From walking round Mindelo I can also say with certainty they have the best place!

Jean Pierre had prepared breakfast and dinner for us which was very large quantity and delicious. He was very gentle to accomplish any request we had.

Featuring quiet street views, Casa de Gá provides accommodation with terrace, around 1.7 km from Torre de Belem. This bed and breakfast features accommodation with a balcony. The bed and breakfast features family rooms. The room was clean and big. There was also a balcony. The bathroom was super clean. The owner was really friendly and the breakfast she prepared was great too. Even if the place is not located in the center of Mindelo, it is not far by foot and one can also take a bus a few meters from the house next to a nice bar/restaurant and reach the center of the city in a few minutes (for 40 cents!).

Everything was perfectly enjoyable. Got all the help we needed to plan our trip on, booking rooms, transport and got lots of great advice. Very interesting conversations with the charming and quite remarkable owner.

I ran into her at a local supermarket and she greeted me and was able to help me with getting a local SIM card. View from the terrace is beautiful and just as pictured. Even though I left at 5:45 am to catch the morning ferry, breakfast was already prepared and was substantial to start the day.

I also appreciated the hosts, both Sonia and Anselmo were super helpful with everything, from my check-in to helping me with information of the islands, and their breakfast was great for me since I don't like waking up too early to go look for food 😅. All in all, a great stay!
