The pictures did not really do our room justice. The upstairs bedroom and bathroom were roomy and so comfortable. Breakfast was a gourmet meal. Each day we were served something different. It was a feast! The location was great. An easy walk to stores, restaurants and buses. Honestly, we hated to leave. You are missing out if you don’t book a stay here.

Mike & Carolyn Ball B&B is located in Coseley, just 3 miles from Dudley and 12 miles from Birmingham. It offers bed and breakfast accommodation, free parking and a garden view.

The guest rooms at Mike & Carolyn Ball B&B feature a flat-screen TV, Blue-Ray player and tea/coffee making facilities. There is also a self-catering ground floor studio apartment, with a kitchenette, bedroom/living area and bathroom. A full-size fridge and a microwave are also featured. The room was single - but more spacious than I had envisaged. There was plenty of room for my huge suitcase, and rucksack, a comfy armchair, warm radiators, tv, coffee machine, kettle, hotplate, microwave, dishwasher, fridge with a small freezer. There was also an en suite, with some toiletries and towels provided. The fridge was stocked up with items for breakfast, such as ham, cheese, butter, yogurts, fresh orange juice, fresh milk, and there were also a choice cereals on a shelf in the room, and plenty of coffee capsules and teabags and instant coffee and milk sachets too. I had already done a bit of research and there is a small Asda within walking distance (less than half a mile away) and a bus stop (82) that goes between Dudley, via Bilston, to Wolverhampton and visa versa. I was able to borrow my sister's car for my stay, and there was space for 3 cars on the front, so no on street parking required. There is also a chip shop and Chinese takeaway very close by, again less than half a mile away. I had planned to use all these facilities, but in the end my week panned out quite differently. There was also a good wifi connection. The house felt secure and safe, which was important to me as a lone female traveller. Mike and Carolyn were very warm people, and greeted me on day 1, and then checked on me now and again to see if everything was okay.

In the mornings, the Broadwell serves full English breakfast in the spacious breakfast room, overlooking the large patio and the extensive garden. Dishes are served alongside a selection of cereals and fresh fruit juice. Excellent location; perfect for the NEC and easy to reach. Breakfast was very good & you could virtually have whatever you liked (Bacon sandwich was a must!). The hospitality of the hosts was second to none; the personal touch really does make a difference. I'd stay here again without hesitation & this is one of the best guesthouses I've ever stayed in.

Dating back to 1890, Elmdon Lodge still retains many original features, and has free Wi-Fi and free parking on site. The property has a quiet location in a leafy cul de sac, but is 5 minutes’ walk from the train station and 15 minutes’ drive from Birmingham.

In the morning, guests can enjoy a full English breakfast, served in the traditional dining room. Lighter options like porridge, yoghurt, cereals and fresh fruit are also available. Everything was top class. Friendly staff. Breakfast was one of the best I enjoyed. The beds were very good too.. The room and stairs were very clean. You can park your car free at the back of the premises .

Barncroft Luxury Bed & Breakfast offers secluded bed and breakfast accommodation a 15-minute drive from Birmingham International Airport. Birmingham city centre is a 25-minute drive from the building, while the NEC is only an 8-minute drive away. Victoria was extremely welcoming and helpful. She made the effort to get in touch with me prior to me arriving to let me know about the road closure that would affect me.
