The owner is the director of the contemporary art museum, and the concept is to provide an experience as if you would be staying in a museum (hence the name, El Museo). Each room features original paintings by contemporary Spanish artists and original mid-century furniture pieces, plus tons of art books. The reception is open 24/7 and the staff is very professional. The location is in the quiet part of the centre, around the corner from the spacious and sunny Plaza de Merced with the birth house of Pablo Picasso and a few nice terraces.

It’s a short walk to all the things in Malaga, but substantially less expensive than apartments directly in the tourist center. The apartment isn’t as fancy as others I’ve stayed in, but it’s half the price. So for the money it’s very good. Has a great shower.

The house is in the first line of the beach houses, so we had a nice sea view from our balcony. There was enough space for the four of us, the living room had a comfortable size for a holiday home. The kitchen was very well equipped: they even have a garlic press and other such gadgets. It was nice to see that they don't throw away the foodstuff left from the previous customers: salt, vinegar, oil, different spices. That great and environmentally conscious!
