We absolutely loved our stay! We had one of the apartments, so breakfast was not included, but we had everything to make it ourselves! The apartment was very complete, it contains pans and pots in all shapes and sizes, a cheese grater, sufficient cutlery, and an electric mixer. It had a well equipped bathroom and a very large balcony. Our hostess Mariangela is one of the kindest, warmest women I have ever met! We arrived quite late in the evening, but it was no problem and her son helped us to the apartment with our suitcases. When we left the apartment to continue our journey within Italy, my husband forgot his very expensive headphones and Mariangela was so kind to go all the way to La Spezia to ship it back to us, so wonderful! During the stay, Several times the towels were replaced with new ones. As a location, I can highly recommend Corniglia as it is the quietest of all the five Cinque Terre villages, and not so overrun by tourists as the other ones. If you want, you can be in one of the other villages within 30 min by taking the train. The hiking trail between the villages is also highly recommended, but this will take you a few hours, and you do need to have good climbing legs. Corniglia is the only village of the five with no ‘direct’ access to the beach, as you’ll need to ascend some stairs to get down to the beach, but we considered this a major advantage. We went to the other villages as day trips, where people on the beach were surrounded with all the other day-trip tourists (no privacy at all), but when we took a day off to chill at the beach of ‘our’ Corniglia, it was amazingly quiet and wonderful!

If you're wondering why you should choose Corniglia I can give u some reasons: it’s right in the middle and the most beautiful from my point of view; of the 5 villages Corniglia is the one where NATURE is written in capital letters; the Corniglia - Vernazza route is a real delight.

Just don’t leave it out on a windy night! 🙊Host and hostess very responsive when needing help problem-solving appliances. Also entrance right in city square. Loved.

Perfect location, central to Cinque Terre and quiet at the same time. Great quality of the kichten equipment and coffee recognized as a human right 😉 The possibility to regulate temperature in the apartment significantly increases comfort during cool nights. Comfortable beds, pillows and nice linen made us sleep like babies. Through the windows we could hear gentle and caliming sounds of a nearby train station, church bells and birds. Dinners on the balcony with a view were absolutely unforgettable. Massimiliano was a superb host, very helpful and warm-hearted. We’d definitely come back.

Corniglia is quite pleasant, but perched on a hill top, so if you stayed there you would have to wait for the shuttle bus which was often crowded. Breakfast was a BIG plus, it was delicious (with hot eggs and bacon and fresh fruit and toast and capucchino) and nice to come out of room and sit on an outdoor terrace for breakfast with a sea view! Roberto our host was very friendly, a bit of a character.
