What a beautiful place! The interior is gorgeous, thought was clearly put into every detail. It is practical and beautifully designed. The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen is fully equipped, and the place is quiet while in a very central location. The staff was super friendly and helpful when we arrived.

The house is amazing! It is a completely modernized old store house ("kura") with excellent facilities and comfortable sleeping. The kitchen, bath and living room downstairs are pristine and the downstairs bedroom is very comfortable. The upstairs tatami room is huge and the smell of the new tatami is wonderful. My daughter's family slept very comfortably on futon in that room. The tableware in the kitchen comes from the related ceramic gallery and is beautiful and functional. They even serve fresh fruit, croissants and rolls with butter and jam for breakfast. We appreciated everything about the house!

A lovely apartment above an art gallery. We arrived early and the staff in the gallery looked after our luggage and had it waiting for us in our room at check in time. I could not fault the apartment - comfortable beds and pillows, kitchen with a lovely breakfast each day, great facilities and a rooftop area to sit and enjoy. Right in the historical quarter which is lovely to explore. Thank you for having us we would love to come back one day.

Temari Yukikai is an absolute gem. Our own little Japanese inn for two nights. You will be treated to an amazing experience with the kindest hosts and very thoughtful touches each day. From a welcome drink and treat, to sleeping kimono to use, to afternoon drinks and treats. They even made reservations for us at a head spa and gave us excellent restaurant recommendations. The machiya has been beautifully renovated and has got all the modern amenities one could expect. Everything is new and very refined. Staff at the nearby gallery is kind and attentive, and provided instructions in English about every aspect of the house and stay. Delicious bread, jam and fruit provided everyday for breakfast. The location is perfect, right at Bikan hostorical quarter and within walking distance from Kurashiki Station, making it the perfect base for exploring the entire Okayama area.

The staff are very friendly, they helped providing me with alternative methods to reach the property as the direct buses stop after 7pm or so.
