The accommodation is in a nice quiet area, very easy to reach by train. There are two stations close by, 10-15 min. walk. Two supermarkets (Lidl and Aldi) are just next door. It is a walkable distance to Zaanse Schans, around 35 minutes. Gabrielle, the hostess is a lovely person and made us feel very wellcome! She brought us an amazing, delicios, huge breakfast every morning. There was enough food to eat later on. The accommodation has a garden with chairs ans sunbeds and a great finnish "tynnyrisauna" :) There are also hamam towels and bathrobes to use for sauna. You have coffee and versitile selection of teas to enjoy anytime. I can higly recommend this accommodation and if we get back to the Netherlands, we will definetly stay again at Gabrielle´s!

The hosts! Such an amazing couple! Very helpful when I arrived and respected whatever space I needed yet as a solo traveller, welcomed me in with open arms! Spent most nights hanging out with them, a refreshing and calm place just a 10 minute easy train ride outside of the craziness of downtown Amsterdam. I'm in the middle of a 3 month solo trip through Europe and they were so sweet to help me around the area and feel safe, we had dinner together a few times, Bianca helped me book a nail appointment and do my laundry...and even the morning of my departure my suitcase zippers broke! She allowed me to borrow her luggage to get to my next destination (I mailed back her suitcase). Great place to stay, the privacy is there if you need it, and if you're a solo traveller looking to keep your independence yet connect with some amazing and kind people, this is a great place. They are even building a "tiny home" on their property set to open in a month if you're looking for a little extra privacy. Def plan to go back! Thank you Eric and Bianca!

It was a short taxi ride to the place with the windmills and folk village. There was a supermarket near the hotel. The hotel was close to Zaandam station. You exit the station to the right and go down in the lift then turn right at the bottom. It was a bit difficult to find the first time but easy when you know the way.

Perfect for a stay with the dog with great restaurants nearby. Highly recommend ‘De Hoop op d'Swarte Walvis’ just 2 doors down & also across the bridge ‘Wolfsend’ which is dog-friendly. Amsterdam city centre just 15 mins away by train from village station. Waking up to views of the early morning mist amongst the windmills was amazing. We can’t wait to return.

The room was good enough and the breakfast was great. The owner helped us as quickly as she could when we needed help. The train station is just 10-15 mins walk from there so you can go anywhere you want. And around the village there are a lot of sweet little shops and souvenirs. It was a nice stay.
