Of all the places we stayed during our time in NZ, this was by far our favorite. It is in an idealistic setting with excellent hosts who are attuned to all the fine details that really make guests feel welcome. Highly recommend when in Franz Joseph area.

Lovely little home with homely touches and easy walk to everywhere. Iona is very friendly and hospitable and had the place warm and ready for our late arrival

Everything was great. Very decent size house with a large lounge/kitchen space, 3 big rooms, and 2 spacious bathrooms! Fire place with heaps of woods prepared in the garage. Fast wifi, oh, the last room, which is at the end of the corridor, doesn't get strong wifi, but it didn't really bother much. Really nice host with a prompt response. A few days before our booking, there was an unexpected road closure. I got worried and texted Mel. She was super helpful, giving all the details and information that she could get. From that information, she said that the road work would be done before my check-in date. And she kept me posted until the road work was finally done, which was really kind. (In the end, the road reopened even before the scheduled date.) We absolutely loved this place. So happy that we could make it to Franz Josef! As soon as we checked in, I contacted Mel to extend our stay, but sadly, it was already booked(no wonder!) I'm definitely coming back when I'm back in town next time =)

Bernie (and Gerard of course) were excellent hosts. We arrived in absolutely terrible weather where roads had been blocked getting in and out of Franz Josef and Bernie had kept us updated. The room was fabulous- comfortable beds gorgeous bathroom (with heated floor!) and a lovely lounge area. The cooked breakfast was also great to set up the day. I wish we were staying longer and it was by far our nicest accommodation on our travels so far.

Great location, wonderful place to stay, we loved it there and would have loved to stay longer. Big place, more than enough room, each bedroom was very very big. Nice and private location, and so close to the main town

Fantastic place to stay. Easy walking distance to restaurants and shops but really quiet. Beautiful gardens and deck area.

Well furnished spacious and clean apartment ,serene surroundings not very far from the town center . Lots of spaces and well equipped kitchen
