We arrived at the lodge in the dark, after a long and harrowing drive across the Serengeti. The road to the lodge became smaller and smaller, and we had pretty much lost hope. Yet, upon arrival the contrast could not have been bigger. We were greeted into a large and friendly dining hall in the main building, excellent food, and a beautiful atmosphere all across the grounds. The owners have high ecological ambitions, and they are very active in helping to improve the lives of the people in the community. The small, individual houses are lovely, and the location (once you are there) is splendid.

Pristine landscape, a gorgeous pool and patio area, restaurant offered delicious food and attentive service. One night was not enough!

Providing mountain views, Karatu safari camp Lodge in Karatu provides accommodation, a garden, a shared lounge, a terrace and a bar.

There is a private bathroom with shower in all units, along with free toiletries and slippers. upon our arrival we were greeted with cold fruit juice. This was so wonderful we stayed an extra night. The staff was extremely accommodating. We had our clothes washed as well as our car while we were here. Our room was of sufficient size with a beautiful covered sitting area outside. Our meals were well prepared and delicious. The creamy soups were especially creative and tasty. The evenings were a bit chilly. Upon retiring to bed after dinner we found hot water bottles under our blankets. The beds were very comfortable. The grounds were beautiful and our room was bug free. Wi-Fi was good but only in the dining/lounge area.
