Looking for a luxury tent?

For travellers who love being in nature with an added sense of luxury. Also called glamping, tented camps provide full or limited services, while surrounded by the wilderness. Typically in permanent or semi-permanent camps, these private tents/yurts are a great way to rough it while staying glamorous.

Stayed in the rooms rather than the safari tents. But these were very comfortable and the wifi was reliable.

We stayed for one night before going to a safari. The hotel met our needs and expectations well. We arrived in the morning and the rooms were available right away. The breakfast, which we paid separately, was sufficient and helped us be ready for a day in Nairobi. We had sun-downers on the rooftop bar and dinner in the restaurant. The drinks and food were good, although the sunset wasn't that great. But that has nothing to do with the hotel. In my opinion the price was fair for the location and the quality of the hotel.

The hostel is surrounded by a nice garden. The setting is quiet. Beds are comfotable (mosquito nets have no holes). Hot shower was OK. Staff was not rude and correctly explained the rules.

Close to airport and train station. Safari guide collected us from hotel too.Very comfortable, large hotel taxi offered for ksh1500 to train and airport. Clean. Lovely staff. Restaurant on top floor open 24 hours - we had nice, basic breakfast and supper there - meat, veg, chips, cold beer etc. Hot showers. Towels provided. Fridge in room. Security on compound. For my teenage boys, they were happy with WiFi and access to Netflix! Very convenient for stopovers.

Comfortable oasis in the outskirts of Nairobi. We stayed in a family tent (1 double + 2 singles with en-suite bathroom. Simple, clean and comfortable. Bar is open till 11pm and reasonably priced. Didn’t use the pool but it looked nice. Breakfast was fine with 4 options to choose from included, and optional extras (smoothie etc) available for modest extra charge). We were self-driving, but they can also arrange airport transport and longer safari tours as required. Variety of accomm available: double tents, family tent, dorm tents, camping.

The hosts were really friendly and helpful. They made a lovely breakfast each morning. Hot shower, flush toilet, mosquito nets, wifi etc. The grounds were great and good to relax in. The area is very quiet and safe. The location is great for the Elephant Nursery, Giraffe Centre and Safari Park. It's not that close to the city itself but the city can be accessed quite easily by taxi/uber.

Robert is a caring, welcoming host and helps whenever needed. His apartment offered us all we needed as layover after our Safari and before we took the train to Mombasa. The kitchen is fully equipped and a shopping mall is about 1.5 km from the apartment. There is a hot shower and a washing machine Robert was happy to explain to us so we could wash all our Safari stuff. It was a great stay for us with a decent price 🙂
