Looking for a capsule hotel?

Developed in Japan, these cheap 'pod' hotels are a novelty for any traveller. With rows of small single bed enclosed capsules, accommodation is basic and intended to be overnight. There is separate storage for luggage and gender-separate communal bathrooms — some capsule hotels also have a sentō, a Japanese bath house, often for male guests only.

Lovely guest house, everything was clean and comfortable. Great location. Host was very friendly and helpful and we loved having Daruma-kun running around 🐶 definitely recommend. Children should be a bit older though as not to disturb other guests, it's an old Japanese house so keep an eye on noise and limited space.

I chose this place over a nearby slightly cheaper options because I read there was a very sweet dog here. I was not disappointed. Daruma (dog) is an absolute sweetheart and Daisuke (human) was so incredibly welcoming. I was given a map with plenty of great things to see around town and spent some evenings learning so much about Mt Fuji from Daisuke. Conveniently located just a short walk from the train station and bus stop. Can definitely recommend staying here!

This is luxury for backpackers. It’s worth going to fujinomiya to stay here if you are a bit fatigued by all the budget travelling. Except for the temperature control it was a fantastic experience. I had a bigger cubicle but even if you had the usual capsule room it would still be many times better than other capsule hostels and dorm hostels.

A capsule hotel without the capsules. The sleeping area is partitioned with walls, furnished with a single bed, charging area and TV with adequate height to stand. There is a shared living room and bathroom which were clean and spacious and is conveniently located near train station within walking distance. Staff is amenable and able to speak fluently in English. Guests are also given a locker space to store items. There are rules for guests to follow, to ensure that the sleeping area is as quiet as possible.

This is a quaint and quirky little guesthouse. It is an old traditional Japanese house. We loved sleeping on the mats on the floor. Daisuke-san was knowledgeable and helpful, friendly and welcoming. CEO Daruma patrols the house and loves a good scratch and cuddle.

Beds are comfortable, pods are well furnished with USB charging and power points. Shared shower facilities are spotlessly clean. There are a number of convenient places to eat in the area.

Close to plenty of restaurants, and it is near to Fujinomiya Station (for going to Mt. Fuji). Receptionist was very nice and friendly in explaining stuff to me in the easiest Japanese as possible. The best thing is it’s self checkout, it is my first time staying at hotel like this. Price is affordable, too.
