We liked everything about our stay at The wheelhouse. The location was amazing, so peaceful, the only sounds around we could hear were the sounds of nature and you could see stars at night through the window as well. The inside was very clean and tidy, well equipped with anything you really need.

Such a beautiful and nourishing space. I enjoyed the creativeness, and continued unfolding of thoughtfulness and beauty. I was grateful to the thoughtful hosts, who left us to it, but made sure we had all we needed, and knew how to contact them if needs be. The hot tub fire was started in time for our first afternoon arrival, and so was toasty by the evening. There was plenty of wood left for the remainder of our stay. We were also blessed by a little dog visitor gently scratching on the door on the last morning, eager to come in and say hello - as part of his alms round I presumed! A great location for local exploration of the coast too.

Bed is very comfortable and the room is cozy and spacious enough for a few days stay. Great idea to have a fan heater in the bathroom. I loved that there was a lovely separate lounge for the guests with a fireplace (wasn't on) and a cabinet with a lot of good books. Also there's a couch-swing in the back garden and beautiful flowers and greens. We enjoyed a company of 2 friendly cats that greeted us when we were around.

Everyone in Bude was really friendly, and it did what it needed to for us as a family of four. It is an easy, short walk to Crooklets beach, and central enough so that we hardly used our car for the week that we stayed here. We also hired a beach hut from the local tourist board that made up for the lack of outside space, which we felt we really needed. All in all, it was good, but of course, this year everyone went to Cornwall, so prices for everywhere were higher than usual.
