The homemade Guinness bread and homemade cookies were gifted to us by the host upon arrival and were delightful. I could not fault our stay at the lodge. I was thoroughly impressed. Plus, the host, Margaret, was as friendly as you could hope for, making us feel very welcome. Plus, the lodge was nothing short of perfect, we both loved the decor, it had everything you could possibly need for your stay, and the cleanliness of the entire location was impeccable.

Looking for a cabin?

For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.

We had the best few days staying here Jenny is an angel and went above and beyond for us, from the basket of treats to fresh eggs and fresh baked bread on arrival to including my kids in feeding the animals. Waking up to the stunning views and beautiful garden every morning was a highlight for me! The cabin itself was spotless clean and very warm and comfortable, has everything you need for your stay. We will definitely be back again 😊

Jenny, the host, was absolutely lovely and went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Our daughter got to feed the animals on the farm and there was orange juice, milk, butter in the fridge. We had fresh farm eggs and bread as well as fruit and snacks. The cabin is beautiful and well kitted out. It is close to Rossnowlagh and Murvagh beaches - excellent for swimming and surfing - and sits between Donegal Town and Ballyshannon.

Comfortable but small cabin rooms although we already knew that before going. The location and breakfast are amazing so a roof over your head is what you get.

Such an interesting build , a beautifully environmentally friendly house , straw walls and clay and beautiful wood beams . The location was mystical and peaceful , the lake was the perfect backdrop for a September break. Our hut was a tastefully decorated, off grid , with a proper hot stove and the most amazing bed ! I slept unturned and not a dream haunted my busy mind.
