Mount Holdsworth is a 20-minute drive from the property, where you can enjoy many walking tracks. Castlepoint Beach and Riversdale Beach are both a 1-hour drive from the property, or you can visit the Wairarapa and Martinborough wineries nearby. The Mt Bruce Wildlife Centre is 31 km from BK's Chardonnay Motor Lodge and there are many restaurants and cafes around the towns of Masterton, Featherton, Greytown and Carterton, all within a 30-minute drive away.

Since this was my second stay I brought my own food being aware of the good kitchen facilities.

Looking for a cabin?

For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Grounds were immaculate. Cabin that we were upgraded to was perfect for a small family and right beside play area. Plenty of parking.

Very friendly and helpful. Our van broke down there and we stayed another night in the same cabin so it was great we didn't have to shift at all.

We loved everything about our stay at Fallow Hut. It was decorated perfectly and had all the amenities we could've hoped for. The electric blankets were great for the time of year too. No wifi, which we didn't mind. We put one of our phones in the window where we had a bit of reception and hotspotted through there when we wanted to check emails or messages. The selection of DVDs was great with a little bit for everyone.
