Lovely friendly city (felt more like a town) with a good choice of places to eat quality food at bargain prices. The thermal springs are a must do, but I recommend getting there early to avoid any crowds. I had the pool to myself. Just me, the warm water and snowcapped mountains in the distance. Not many other tourists around, but all the infrastructure you need is here.

Small town at the Vjosa river.
Climb the "Guri i Qytetit" rock for a great view of the town.
Eat at “Te Culi” restaurant in the city center. Lovely family restaurant with local dishes to very affordable prices.
Great town for going rafting on Vjosa and discovering the region, e.g. canyoning/walking in Langarica canyon with its natural springs.

Beautiful little town in surrounded by mountains.
Beautiful little town in surrounded by mountains. It was my second time there and plan to return. I visited both times to go hiking in the canyon and rafting in the canyon nearby and to visit the thermal waters. The canyon offers breathtaking views and would recommend to anyone. We had mostly typical albanian food, which was cheap and delicious.

There was a wonderful feel at night in the central area as people perambulated up and down the pedestrianised areas and around the parks. Felt a friendly place not over commercialised. Amazing river gorge and rock outcrop. Roses were a treat to see.

Nice folk music during the weekend at the local restaurant.
Nice folk music during the weekend at the local restaurant.
Several small dairy shops that produce cheeses from local herds, as well as honey sellers.
Delicious food, do not miss the local specialties (shqeto soup), lamb/goat meat dishes and byrek (mesnik).
Gorgeous sights, snow capped mountains, blue/greenish river, gorges, etc.
Not to miss: the thermal waters of Bënjë, with several natural "pools" each with its own therapeutic properties.
