Picturesque Town on Iguazú Falls' Doorstep
Located 18 km from the Iguazú Falls UNESCO World Heritage Site, Puerto Iguazú is an Argentinean town situated near the Brazilian border, in the Province of Misiones. Its compact city centre is packed with restaurants, cafés and shops, while the area is well-known for its red soil and lush vegetation.
The stunning falls comprise 275 individual falls spread over 3 km between Argentina and Brazil. They have a maximum height of 80 metres and a water flow that can be three times superior to that of the Niagara Falls.
The Guaraní natives named the falls ‘iguazú’, meaning ‘big water’. The national park was founded in 1907, and some of the best hotels in Puerto Iguazú are located in the road linking the city centre to the falls. Some hotels on the Argentinean side of the waterfalls offer beautiful views.
The local bus station offers links to several long-distance destinations, including Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. The city is served by Cataratas del Iguazú International Airport, while the Brazilian Foz do Iguaçu International Airport is 16 km away.

Amazing bucket list experience! We went later in the day and rode the boat ride that took us practically right next to the falls! Truly awe-inspiring and something that all should experience. Prices are great. Be prepared for the steps down, and then back up!...to and from the boats - it's a bit of a climb. Didn't get to do much else at the park - if there is a next time, we will go earlier to get the full experience!

It is a wonderful city, mainly for the falls. I visited the falls for the whole 2 days I was there, and also went to the three frontiers. The city is very safe, except for the mosquitos...use repelent!!!

Very disappointed.
Very disappointed. Spent time and money to get to this part of Argentina to see these falls and we saw very little due to over tourism. It was so crowded you were elbow to elbow, face to face and some times wheel chairs running over your feet so they can get by. It was terrible. What a way to ruin 1 of the 7 wonders.

I loved the Falls, especially the Argentina side.
I loved the Falls, especially the Argentina side. This was also our chance to visit Paraguay. There were some nice restaurants nearby. The weather was terribly hot and humid. We didn’t stay long at either Park because it was too hot and crowded in the morning. The sidewalks in Puerto Iguasu are terrible.

Ah, my own apartment - after weeks of dorms, hotel rooms and overnighting on coaches. And octagonal as well...the surprise of having the use of a teapot so that I could make proper English tea. Yes, excellent cooking facilities too
Erika was lovely, informative and welcoming.
Once you know the area a little you realise that Tres Fronteras and the centre of Puerto Iguazu are within easy walking distance and the bus station just off Missiones gets you to both sides of the falls.
Beautiful grounds, comfortable room. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Location is great, a short ride to the waterfalls in Argentina and also to the Brazilian border. Transportation was arranged in advance with the hotel. Our guide, Hugo Fernandez, made the whole trip a thousand times better. He was incredible! So efficient and accommodating, suggesting things to do and schedules which basically gave us an extra day to visit more places. We are so thankful to him!
The staff were friendly and helpful, but bear in mind the best thing about this hotel is the location. It is nothing special, it has comfortable beds and okay bathrooms. Breakfast was fine at best. It's on one of the main roads that has street vendors and restaurants (as do many of the cross streets nearby) and is directly in front of the bus station, which made for easy transportation to and from the waterfalls and airport!
My family of six and I stayed at Loi Suites Iguazu Hotel and had booked three rooms. The hotel had a beautiful territory with impressive features like swimming pools and suspended bridges, giving you a real jungle experience.
The breakfast offered a decent variety of dishes. However, the rooms looked worn out and weren't renovated. Unfortunately, these were the only positive aspects of our stay.
Rober was extremely accommodating. He took all of our transport logistics with ease. His taxi service provided us transport to Iguazu Argentina and Brazil side, also took us to The Triple Frontier, and great restaurants. The hostel has hot water, private bathroom, refrigerator, A/C, and Tv. Bed was good. It's walking distance to the convenient store, La Aripuca, nearby bread store, and restaurant.
The hotel is modern and comfortable with a great rooftop deck for watching sunsets. The breakfast was generous and tasty. The driver they set us up with for picking us up at the airport was very nice and he also drove us to the park the next day as well as to the Brazilian side on the following day. The front desk staff were very helpful.
Excellent location near the bus station. The hotel looks new and the room is clean and comfortable. Comfy beds, spacious room to lay out my stuff. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Breakfast was satisfactory. I wish I had an extra day to try out their spa services. I paid via credit card as the cash options seems to have a premium.
Booked for a one night budget stay on the Argentina side of Iguazu falls. The hotel worked for what we needed. Many of the guests seemed to be staying at the hotel for the pool – which was nice. Quite a few families. The employees at the reception were helpful and pleasant. The room was clean. The air conditioning worked great.
Lovely Hotel-Rooms set amongst jungle gardens. Nice pool.
Very nice evening meal in the restaurant- great food and good wine choices.
Very reasonable price for room and a good breakfast too.
Reception will organise a Taxi for the Falls or Airport in advance if you wish.
The staff were very helpful too!
Can recommend this hotel.
This is a beautiful peaceful place to stay just outside of Puerto Iguazu. spacious cabins with comfortable beds, the most gorgeous tropical garden and a really great sized pool. Breakfast was excellent! Taxis are cheap to get into town, otherwise there is a restaurant nearby, or you can order takeout for dinner.
Fabulous hostel in Puerto Iguazu! The location is right in the heart of downtown Iguazu, and it's easy to take a cab to the falls. The room was a good size, with warm water and good wifi. It was very quiet too! Breakfast was good, and the staff is fantastic! Thank you for a wonderful stay!
This is the most beautiful hotel. The spacious cabins are surrounded by lush vegetation and are comfortably appointed. The family who run the hotel are super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. The pool is gorgeous too. Our favourite place to stay in Argentina.
This is a beautiful B&B on the edge of town. It is stylish and very comfortable, plus a 10-minute walk to restaurants. Pablo is a great host — very helpful and kind. He gave us a lot of information about how best to see the Falls from Argentina and Brazil.
Location perfect as Puerto iguazu is a great break out place to visit the waterfalls. The room was cheap, but all facilities were clean nonetheless. I loved the friendliness of the staff and the two little dogs they kept. Overall atmosphere was very good.
Great small hotel - near 10 rooms in total. Little bit far from Iguasy falls - near 15 mins drive by car. And it' near 25 mins to drive from airport. Design of the rooms is good. Bed was comfortable. Staff is nice, but not all of them speak english.
Breakfast was fine -- mostly bread, but that's to be expected in Argentina. Simple, but comfortable room. Nice patio to relax after a long day of walking around the falls. Close to the main strip of restaurants and bars.
The hotel's location is excellent, situated inside the park. The staff is friendly, especially the front desk staff, Ms Rocio, who was extremely helpful and polite.
