Hotel Nikolasch, hotel in Lieserhofen

Just few steps from the centre of Millstatt. The hotel's own beach is 7 minutes' walk away.

The private access to the lake is wonderful with use of paddle boards, kayaks etc. Drinks available at the lake using an honour system (awesome), pay at the hotel. Staff were really lovely. Looked after my bag. Breakfast great selection with proper coffee machine.

Erlebnis Post - Stadthotel mit EigenART, hotel in Lieserhofen

Located directly on the historic main square of Spittal an der Drau, this unique hotel offers colourful, individually decorated rooms in a variety of styles, from business to eco-friendly.

An eclectic choice of rooms. In the end I settled for a room on the second floor at the back of the hotel, which turned out to be blissfully quiet, with none of the ambient noise you get from modern hotels. The bar and restaurant area was friendly and lively, very welcome after a week in relatively characterless establishments further east. The trout I ordered was delicious.
