Saalbach Hinterglemm provides variety of slopes and there is something to offer for everyone, even for the heavy skiers. Jausen is a good start for the day as a first slope. Hinterglemm is little bit less busy and those days that are crowded, maybe to consider to take ski-bus there. In Hinterglemm parking is more easy. Saalbach has little bit toi many cars.

I have not been to the valley itself until this year, although I know the Zell am See region well. I must say that the Saalbach Valley offers a lot of possibilities for an active vacation in all seasons, the range of services is well organized and offers additional discounts with the Joker card, and there are also many culinary and food establishments.

Great area for summer activities like MTB (both downhill and Endurance/XC), trail running and hiking! Easy accesss to both Saalbach and Hinterglemm area and Leogang also pretty close. Great variety - no matter if your beginner or advanced in MTB and/or trail running. Also some nice really advanced/demanding hiking routes - for examle "7 Summits". Possibly also great area for gravel biking. Easy access to alpine terrain via ski lifts - also with bikes. Great variety of open restaurants and cafe´s in both Hinterglemm and Saalbach cities but also up in the mountain terrain. We lived at Thomsn Alpine Rock Hotel which we recommend 100% - super location, stunning view, bike service, wellness and simply a really nice hotel :-)

I came to join my son and family for hiking.
I came to join my son and family for hiking. It seemed to be low season. Very few guests. I had a lift just behind the hotel, wich was very good. My family stayed just 10 minutes away by foot, so we spent all evenings together. I did not explore the restaurants in the town, but streets were quite empty.
It is a very amasing little perl in the Alps though. Summer and winter.
We made very nice walks with amasing views. Sometimes demanding, though you take the lift up first.
I hope to return some day.

Extensive ski area, with long and varied runs, quick comfortable lifts and small queues.
You have to get 2 buses to travel from Saalbach to Kaprun at the other end of the ski area, which would take 1hr 10min each way so although the area offers lots of runs you have to use public transport. Otherwise Zell Am See, Saalbach and Hinterglem are well linked.
Good use of snow canons and artificial snow, well maintained pistes.
Not snow sure for mid march onwards (which is when we went) and if it's warm then it is poor skiing after 12pm and there wouldn't be any off piste.
Lively resort, good bars and cafes.
Well linked lifts in each area.

Breakfast was very good, lots of choice from very healthy to a full fried breakfast. Lots of juice options including self pressed vegetables and fruit.
The spa was pretty amazing, if you want a break with a spa for a non-skier this hotel would be a good option.
The staff were extremely helpful and let us stay in our rooms for a very late check out without charge - a very nice touch.
The beds are super comfy, just what was needed after a long day.
The apartment complex was part of a hotel, so some of the hotel commodities were available to us aswell, the 2 great swimming pools, the outside hot jacuzzi in the freezing weather, the 2 family sauna and the great adult spa, were used by all.
The apartment was spacious enough for a family of 6. We bought the ski passes in the lobby and the ski school was a 1 minute walk from it.
We got just enough towels and beddings.
Very nice hotel with good energy and atmosphere. The rooms are cozy and the big plus for me was the Bluetooth speaker that allows you to create an even better atmosphere in your room. The spa and pool are perfect. There is even a cold mountain stream next to the pool. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. The staff and the owner Andreas were very friendly. I will definitely come back when visiting this area again.
Great price for the amount of space you get. Had enough space and it was better than the pokey little rooms others offer. Close to bus stop which supports the ski bus, night bus, and the bus from Zell if you're traveling in from Salzburg airport by public transport. Door operates with key code so no worrying about keys apart from picking up the code from a hotel in Hinterglemm. Boot warmers a nice plus
Our family ski a lot in Austria in many different centers. Although the hotels are good, the staff are somehow not polite. But this hotel's staff is very friendly and helpful. Esp, our waiter at dinner, Ana! She is the 6th star of this hotel :) I do always appreciate people who care&love their jobs. She is that kind. Thanks Ana for the lovely dinner times!
The hotel was excellent. The staff was very friendly, polite and helpful. Our room was quiet as requested, very comfortable considering the size of the hotel and very clean. Breakfast was very good with reasonable variety. The ski lifts and the center of the village was within walking distance. An excellent experience, strongly recommended.
The Hotel is absolutely beautiful. It has the best bike facilities i have ever seen. Lockers, showers, bike wash, workstand. More like a spa for your MTB.
Great service and good food and a beautiful spa area featuring multiple saunas and an infinity pool.
Great place to stay in Saalbach
Authentic and cozy hotel for family and friends in beautiful location. Bus to ski well organised, amazing skiing ground especially if you are a decent skier. Good breakfast and dinner. Friendly and dedicated staff. Very clean and tidy shared premises. We were very happy with our stay.
Very kind staff of the hotel. We were going to ski at checkout day and they offered to change clothes and take a shower in the afternoon before the journey home. That's not usual and we really appreciate it . Breakfast was excellent. The room was nice and well equipped.
Paul is a great host. The room offers excellent value for money. Beds are comfortable and breakfast is what can be expected. The hotel is set back in a side valley on a dead-end road. Nice and quiet location. There is a very luxury secure bike storage shed.
It has been my 5th or 6th time staying either at Stammhaus or Alpine Palace Hotel and as always I was not disappointed. Facilities, a tasty breakfast, and welcoming staff are what make me return here. And most likely I will be back.
The breakfast was completely traditional, unfortunately it was often empty of eggs and toppings.
The hotel is centrally located. Quiet area with little noise from party happy people, some noise from traffic on the main road
The breakfast at or hotel was amazing. There was a lot of variation. We booked with booking and included was dinner but we didn't need that. The hotel was clean and the people are verry friendly. It was close to the pubs.
Impressive facility and super friendly staff. A great added bonus was the free lift ticket to ride the gondola to amazing views of the Austrian Alps. Makes our Colorado mountains look like piles of gravel.
