We have been to Brisbane many times for business and to see family and friends. Brisbane is a nice place to visit with good weather, generally, places to visit around the river. We enjoy some of the outdoor entertainment and events.
Brisbane has a fantastic river with wide paved pathway on both sides for cycling, scooter riding, jogging, walking, etc. There are plenty of outdoor venues for food, drink, and entertainment. Great city!
Near Brisbane airport so good when flying in and our Also good for anyone visiting Brisbane for business or Leisure Train or bus to city centre available and lots of tourist things to do . Around and in Brisbane. Boat trips up the river.
Brisbane has come a long way since the mid-1990s. It now has plenty of good restaurants and is easy to get around in a car. Weather is fantastic from June-November. Plenty of good to excellent golf courses nearby on the Gold Coast within 1 hour and Brookwater at Springfield is extraordinary.
For a working trip, I didn't have much time to checkout other places. However I stayed in the Valley next to the RNA showgrounds and was pleasenlty surised that everything was in walking distance, shops, restrauants, transport, parking....
Enjoyed the day/lunch cruise of the Brisbane River. So great to see all the changes since I lived in Brisbane suburbia 45 years ago. Loved the food and eateries. Frankie and George Cafe is anything but flash, but the breakfasts were delicious and I can only see this place growing and getting so much better with the development that is going on in the George Street area. Check them out. Currently closes earlier on a Sunday, which was a personal disappointment. Also enjoyed JIMMY'S ON THE MALL. Very busy on the weekend, but understandably so. Mmmm....the food was good and there was a buzz in the city to soak up. Loved the convenience of the OKEYDOKEY CAFE, near the reception to the SKYTOWER. Here I repeatedly enjoyed the exceptional friendly service of an extremely pleasant woman, originally from Germany. Good coffee, as many other places, but in the wintery weather at this time, she was a cheery person who made all the difference. Happy with my accommodation at the beginning of May at the SKYTOWER and then at the GEORGE WILLIAMS HOTEL. Very different but both great value for the buck, Enjoyed THE WHEEL OF BRISBANE- A ferris wheel on the south bank. And while on that side of the river, an easy walk via the Victoria Bridge from accommodation in George Street, I checked out the local entertainment. Here I saw the musical " Nine to Five" at the modern LYRIC THEATRE at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre. I suggest advanced bookings, but one of the advantages of travelling solo is the chance to get that one and only seat without a booking. Heaps of talent and a clever production. Getting around the CBD was so walkable. Taxis plentiful. Shuttle service to the airport is good value and creates an opportunity to talk to other tourists and get travellers tips. Each time I caught the bus there was always some friendly travellers. Next time it would be nice to have a travel companion, but at no time did I feel too lonely or unsafe.
Brisbane CBD, Brisbane
Did not have breakfast at the hotel. The hotel location was perfect - walking distance to the Myers Centre , all of the CBD , Eagle St Pier , Botanic Gardens , Southbank and the Museum , and so many eating places !!!! The hotel was of a very high standard for the price , the hotel room was very comfortable with great pillows and well stocked kitchenette , and the hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to friends and family.
Fortitude Valley, Brisbane
Pretty awesome place!! The staff are super friendly. The location in fortitude valley makes it perfect for any visit / night out. The kitchen is full size and decent. Would be great to see some hostel activities to start again to bring more life back to the place. The schedule of things (pre covid) looks awesome but damn covid19 stopping them. At the moment it's cheap, not full, clean and the staff are super helpful with job searches / Brisbane info etc.
South Brisbane, Brisbane
Large, spacious, modern apartments complete with a large balcony, large bathroom and fully stocked kitchen utensils. The fridge is full size complemented by a gas stove and a microwave. I would recommend these apartments with total confidence. Southbank is only a couple of blocks away, West End with all it's eateries is around the corner and the City mall is a pleasant twenty minute walk. I will be back.
The location was great, close to CBD (15 min walk), public transport, heaps of restaurants, museum, art gallery, library and riverbank parklands. Lots to do and see. The hotel was clean, functional and the price was right. The staff provided information and were very helpful. Roughly a $45 Uber 30 minute ride from Brisbane airport (at about 10pm so less traffic).
South Brisbane, Brisbane
Location was fabulous- a short walk to Southbank or Brisbane CBD. The rooms were spacious and had huge wardrobes. The kitchen was professional and sufficient for us to cook on a number of occasions. Aircon was strong and rooms were full of light! The rooftop pool Nd barbecue facilities were excellent too :) The washing machine and dryer in the room was a bonus!
South Brisbane, Brisbane
Good location close to a lot of restaurants, cafes, Iga store close to West end Close to the Southbank restaurants about 1 kilometre Close to the south bank railway station ( about 800 meters so we could travel directly from the airport to the South Brisbane station. Even the Brisbane CBD was easily reached by train.
South Brisbane, Brisbane
It's located in Southbank so it's just walking distance to everything. I love how big the place is with complete facilities. I can cook and watch tv after roamin around the city. There's a lift and a free parking space which is unusual in Brisbane hotels.
Very handy to the CBD and the Roma Street Parklands. It is located within a reasonable walking distance from the Brisbane River, which was a nice way to pass the time in the evening, and the ferries if you wanted to go and explore. I would be happy to stay again.
Hamilton, Brisbane
Location with close proximity to brisbane city and the airport was a key factor why we chose this apartment. It was convenient, there was a pool, had the basics. Very close to the Hamilton Hotel where the food was great.
Did not have breakfast at the hotel. The location is close to many of Brisbane's cultural venues, also Southbank Parklands are right on the doorstep. Brisbane city is also a short walk or public transport is close by.
Brisbane CBD, Brisbane
Right in the CBD of BRIsbane. Great price for 4 night stay. No room service for cheaper price but we are happy to do our own. Bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable. Close walk to Southbank and Botanical Gardens.
We selected this location for its proximity to the hospital - which is fantastic, walking distance. As a bonus it is also close to Brisbane's Southbank, offering a multitude of restaurants and walking options.
South Brisbane, Brisbane
Excellent amenities area, though the gym could have a greater variety of machine etc. Good location to access restaurants, bars, museums, CBD and Southbank. Nice touch complimentary water, Kit Kat and Coke.
Brisbane CBD, Brisbane
Very clean and spacious apartments. Located in a very good location in the Brisbane CBD. Friendly and helpful staff who provided a professional service with check-in and check-out.
The location was excellent for both the CBD and Southbank. The hotel room was spacious, clean and the walk-in shower was wonderful. The staff were lovely and helpful too.
Brisbane CBD, Brisbane
Great location and central within Brisbane CBD. Breakfast was good as room service but not enough options. Room was very nice, spacious, comfortable and well appointed.
We had a lovely stay at the Royal on the Park, the room was very comfortable. We were close to the Brisbane CBD, The Botanical Gardens and a short walk to Southbank.
Brisbane CBD, Brisbane
Location in the CBD of Brisbane was excellent, shops, public transport, restaurants all within 5 minutes.
Brisbane CBD, Brisbane
Comfortable room in great location short walk to Botanical Garden and Brisbane CBD
Great breakfast though nobody told us the kitchen was closing.
