Castaways Moreton Island, hotel in Bulwer

Castaways is located on Moreton Island, in the township of Bulwer. 10kms from the ferry landing spot. If you dont have a 4wd vehicle you need to book a paid transfer to Castaways.

Belinda and her team were fantastic, just the right balance of being available if required, but left alone for privacy. We loved the glamping tents and would certainly recomend them (power at the tents) camp kitchen was 10 out of 10 with an arangement of phone chargers available to use. The island of course is amazing, the lighthouse and champagne pools a were a favourite, and of course snorkelling on the Tangalooma wrecks...wow!

Villa 36, hotel in Bulwer

A recently renovated apartment situated in Tangalooma, Villa 36 features an outdoor swimming pool. This beachfront property offers access to a balcony and free private parking.

We loved the modern furnishings of the property, spaciousness and location. The location was definitely one of the better villas on the island in terms of a quiet spot that you can walk right onto the beach. Once the property had actually been cleaned, it was a clean property. Lots of kitchenware, although only a microwave oven.

The location and views were incredible. We spent a lot of time out on the balcony everyday. The dolphin feeding was directly in front of our apartment. The sunsets were incredible too.

I went glamping, and it was an exact fit for me!

I went glamping, and it was an exact fit for me! It brought back sweet memories of camping in a canvas tent! Tight zippered screen door to keep the creepy-crawlies at bay, wonderful wide screen windows that has the cool evening breezes flowing and a very comfortable bed along with a toilet and shower! No more heading out in the dead of night with your trusty flashlight to the biffy! At least that is how we did it in Canada. Soft sand trails to the spectacular beach, and a wonderful staff who embrace you with such warmth. If you are looking for a relaxed, laid back, barefoot sand and sun experience, Castaways at Bulwer is where you need to go.

    Take water to drink.

Take water to drink. We were disappointed with the no running water in our unit during the day and no water to have showers on one of the evenings. We spoke with staff on a number of occasions and they showed little interest. On the morning we left, I mentioned to a staff member again about the water and they simply said 'sorry' and we look into it. Too late for us. The location was nice and close to the beach.
