Traffic noise from the road was noticeable but this would be the same for every place on the highway

Host had baked fresh bread for my arrival. A breakfast most would like was otherwise left but as I travel with my own specific breakfast i only ate the bread.

Camperdown is a lovely town with lakes and gardens and historical sites such as the ClockTower. People are friendly. There is plenty of cafe's and shops with two main supermarkets. It is a good place to stay and drive to the great ocean road.

Although I had aimed to stay 2 nights, could only stay 1.
Although I had aimed to stay 2 nights, could only stay 1. Camperdown itself is a town with a 2 klm avenue. It has some beautiful historic buildings and the towns history is worth researching.
Not far from Camperdown you have Lake Edge Cafe at Tesbury on the Purrumbete Estate. On leaving Camperdown on my way to my next destination on a very wintry day, I visited and was greeted with a very warm welcome by all the ladies working there. The coffee was excellent along with the view across the lake. On my next visit I will be sure to return, not just for coffee, but for lunch.

It was just so nice.
It was just so nice. Lots of great buildings to photograph or just admire. The Visitor Information Centre was great and there were plenty of choices for breakfast/brunch, though I probably would avoid the The Loaf and Lounge. Sign out front should have told me. It said "Be nice or leave" which to me is a bit off, especially when you walk in the place and it isn't super busy and the staff seem to be waiting for someone to be nasty. There were other places that were doing a roaring trade and obviously don't have an issue with the clientele.

clean, well planned town.
clean, well planned town. Lots of cafes and hotels, all with good food at reasonable prices. Variety of other shops. Many sightseeing activities. I believe the botanic gardens should be closer to town and more importantly easier to access. Climbing to the top of Mt Leura is an experience not to be missed, spectacular views

In the past I have just driven through on my way to elsewhere but his time we stayed as we had friends who were 'refugees' from fire areas and we stayed for a couple of days. There are plenty of good day trips available to beach & lakes & craters, a very good 'foodie' trail and plenty of cafes and hotels for meals. In the right season there would also be very good fishing (as long as we recover from the drought).

Camperdown is a real rural gem in the heart of the Western District dairy farming area. The town is well laid out with wide tree lined streets and plenty of options for accommodation and meals. We ate at the Commercial Hotel's Manifold Bistro and would have no hesitation in recommending it for lunch or dinner. There are several great options for breakfast too.
The crew were really nice and inviting to me and my stay. I only stayed for one night though instead of the whole week, as I ended up having an infection and was thus sent home from my placement early. The facilities were good and comfortable, and I was able to get a really good nights sleep with the heater going in the corner. I appreciate the hospitality, and I reccomend the Leura Hotel if you are looking for somewhere cheap and convienit to stay. Also the food was really good too :)
My first few days were great very quiet got lots of rest . Comfy bed. Self serve lounge coffee tea etc. Fridge for your food and drinks. IGA and Woolworths easy walking distance. Area has some incredible sites. Extinct Volcano,s.
This is budget hotel but comfortable.
Full bar and pokies downstairs.
Very historic town with some great buildings. The old courthouse is a must. And the top of the mountain view is outstanding and peaceful. Great walking tracks
Light breakfast was included. We left booking to the last minute and couldn't find anywhere to stay along the great ocean road. Camperdown was 40 minutes away from the great ocean road but was convenient on our driving holiday from Melbourne airport through Bendigo, Ballarat and the Great Ocean Road. Pretty country town. Beautiful avenue of trees through the town and good choice of dinner options.
We loved our long weekend stay at The Camperdown Mill with extremely attentive and friendly hosts.
The apartment was well equipped, cosy with some lovely little touches. We loved the large spa ... just beautiful for a good soak after a day walking the trails in the area.
A superb location with easy access to everything in the South West.
The room was warm and inviting with bright decor. Everything was clean and tidy and even the information book was really great. Breakfast was very tasty and the eggs were perfectly runny. The owner was friendly and helpful. I have nothing but compliments. This is a great motel and I will definitely stay there again next time I’m in Camperdown.
I absolutely loved Camperdown. It has so much going for it. The bed in this room was super comfortable. I would stay here again for sure. The pub down the road, the only one open I think was good too. Great chicken Kyiv. Hampden Hotel. Loved the beautiful old buildings here.
Camperdown has a lot of history, an information centre, a tall clock tower, volcanoes, lakes and scenic lookouts. The motel has all the basic amenities and was comfortable.
