Loved everything about my stay at Seaview Lodge, Bridgewater bay. Bed was the absolute most comfortable I have ever slept in!! View is incredible... I watched the sunrise in the morning from the veranda, and watched/listened to the waves from the reading room when it was raining. Lovely self catering kitchen, and the breakfast in the morning was delicious - fruits, yoghurts, different milks, juices, cereals, and full vegetarian hot breakfast made by Dennis, who is a lovely host. Across the road and straight to the beach! Was the perfect restorative solo break for me. Would love to return!

This was the worst place I ever experiences , we booked 2 nights, ( only stayed for one night-I got sick and had a headache from the stink in the room) in a cottage, but it was so stinking and mould in every bedroom and in bathroom as well, bathroom was actually the laundry. Couch was impossible to sit on..very uncomfortable.. The entry doo was falling apart, dirty ..not window opening in the launch area…the location I’d great, and great beach..but not this cottage…

Make sure you check-out the local sights around Cape Bridgewater, including: the Petrified Forest (which isn't really a petrified forest, but looks amazing), seal colony lookouts, blowhole area, Mount Richmond, Bridgewater Lakes and the Tarragal Caves. Prepare to go walking! There's one cafe in Cape Bridgewater; no shops. The cafe does good food and coffee. Make sure you take insect repellent to repel potential March flies!

Great little spot; quiet but pleasant in winter, and I'd enjoy going back in summer. If you're staying a few days you'll probably need to go to Portland for provisions or for dinner etc (only about 15 minutes' drive). Book in to the beachfront cafe at Cape Bridgewater (bookings essential). Visit the petrified forest and blowhole. Do the walk to the seal colony but be prepared if with children - the halfway point might be your limit (especially if weather bad) ... but you'll see seals at the boat jetty.

It was a unique and very peaceful experience. We loved it. Accommodation had everything you need...even salt and glad wrap! Hosts were lovely and very helpful. Close to all the attractions and a short drive to Portland. Waited a long time for Portland fish and chips which were pretty average. Edwards Waterfront was fantastic. Great food and service.

Cape Bridgewater is one of my favourite spots, it is quiet, have lots of hiking places, it just puts the petrol back into my tank. Portland is 15min away if you want to go out for a meal. The breakfast served at Seaview Lodge where we stayed, was superb.

Dennis always delivers a spectacular breakfast - we didn't have to stick exactly to the menu either because (the same as everything else about this place) there is a can-do attitude and you are made to feel more like family than another "tourist". Location is excellent - on the beach and close to all the things to see around Cape Bridgewater. The lodge itself has an amazing balcony and 2 separate cozy areas to relax, play cards, eat etc. This was our second visit and it won't be our last.

We stayed at Cape Bridgewater Seaview Lodge while we were walking the GSWW. It was a welcome stopever on the walk. We loved the historical feel to the place, with the wide verandahs overlooking the ocean - loads of character and warmth. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and there is a kitchen for guest use. Dennis was incredily helpful and welcoming, setting us up with meals and a beer after a long day of walking in the heat. And the breakfast was excellent!

This is a fabulous place to stay, full of character and great views. Cape Bridgewater is a quiet and picturesque location. The rooms are comfortable and great to have some communal space to chat with fellow travellers, including a kitchenette. Dennis is really welcoming and friendly. There are microwave meals available to buy if you need something for dinner and breakfast has a great selection to choose from. I will definitely be returning here.

we have never stayed anywhere like this before. Basically, it is a hostel. We let ourselves in and didn’t see a member of staff until the morning. We made ourselves some supper in the well equipped kitchen. (Luckily we had food and some wine with us, otherwise it would have been a trip back to Portland for supplies). The hotel is generally very tired but it was exceptionally clean. The locus fabulous as it is overlooking a majestic beach.

We have enjoyed many visits to the Seaview Lodge and will be back again. Location, right across from the beach, is unbeatable. The balcony view is the best in town! Dennis is the ideal host, friendly, helpful, informative and then lets you just get on with enjoying your stay.

Dennis the host was excellent - a mine of information about local attractions etc, pretty unflappable about things - and the house excellent. Well-equipped cottage, plenty of kitchen utensils etc, so if you are staying for a while, cooking and everything is a dream.

Cape Bridgewater is a gorgeous part of the coast. It's such a great spot to escape to. We had some long walks on the beach, enjoyed the cafe and settled in around the fire pit with a bottle of red.
