Rooms are nothing like the promotional photos, which show cosy light-filled rooms with an old-world charm. The property is old and noisy with basic facilities. No dining, no water tap in the dining area and no toilet paper on the shared bathroom when we stayed. The reluctance of the owner to address disruptive guests on the common area was the final straw for us. We experienced a tense uncomfortable night after a long day travelling. We wouldn’t stay again and would not recommend the property.

    A welcoming country town.

A welcoming country town. We arrived on the day of the Dally Show, which was a chance to meet the locals and discover more about the area. The guide at the Dalwallinu Discovery Centre was extremely helpful with advice about where to see local wildflowers on the next leg of our journey. We were late for dinner at The Old Convent but managed to get a table at the Dalwallinu Hotel - generous servings and good value for money.

We could choose to be completely private or to interact with others at our accommodation. Dalwallinu was very interesting with such a friendly atmosphere with locals stopping to chat with us and offer interesting information about the town and places to visit.

    I absolutely loved the hotel.

I absolutely loved the hotel. I ordered the chops and veggies for dinner and it was huge. It was also hilarious trying to ask the waitress to order me a shandy at the pub. She didn't understand English too well but we eventually got what I wanted. Lovely atmosphere and great wholesome food.
