It was easy to get to. I was camping with friends but I don't camp. So I enjoyed the day with them and then came to the hotel at night and let them sleep on the ground. The hotel was quiet and bed perfect for someone whose back is no longer great.

Breakfast was a disappointment. Food was cold! Pancakes though stuck to the paper. Orange juice was nice and coffee good. Wasn’t aware we could have eggs cooked to our preference ie poached .

The owners of the property were lovely and Di informed us of the history of Buckland Estate, it was very interesting going back to the 1800's. The lawns were so green and lush. The main building has been kept in such lovely condition and is a wonderful wedding location. The dam near the site tops it off. You just don't expect such a building situated where it is and its not a huge drive from the city.

Irishtown itself isn't hugely interesting, but it is a great hub to travel to nearby locations. Lots to see and do within an hour or so of driving and it is great to come back to a relaxing spot each evening.

The property is out of town, and has no wi-fi, but telephone reception is well catered for. It was just what we were looking for - a peaceful, private place to get away in the country/wheatbelt. Noting to do but rest, read, walk, play board games and listen to the birds.
