We opted to take a flight as we realised we didn’t calculate enough time to really see Kakadu. The flight was awesome. Next time will allow more time.
The staff are very friendly & helpful.
It’s a beautiful part of Oz

Our trip was short, only 2 days, and we weren't able to do a lot of walking, but we got the feel of Kakadu through a scenic flight. The Arnhem Land escarpment was spectacular, and the Dreaming Waters and Yellow Waters from the air was beautiful. Pilot was very helpful and skilled, smooth take off and landing. We also did Yellow Waters Cruise, the sunrise one, and this was one of the highlights of our trip to Darwin, definitely worth the drive.

Kakadu is an interesting place and somewhere every Australia needs to experience at some time. There are crocodiles and National Park walks. We enjoyed an Airboat trip and a tour of the main areas of Ubirr (amazing Aboriginal Art) and a cruise on the river which was very entertaining and full of interesting facts with Offroad Dreaming.
Everything in Kakadu is dear, food, fuel and accommodation. It is the product of isolation and lazy tourism. While we expected dear prices, these were dearer then they needed to be. The maintenance of the resorts and facilities was barely evident at many spots which was disappointing. Any money being made here is not being pumped back into the community.
The walks and destinations are of course as beautiful as any in Australia. I seriously recommend you blend any visit to Kakadu with Central NT (Uluru, The Olga's and Kings Canyon) and Litchfield National Park to make you Australian Tour perfect!

Fabulous natural environment and cultural history.
Fabulous natural environment and cultural history. You do need a four wheel drive to get to the best sections of the park - but they are worth it! Give yourself time to explore - don’t rush it. The cultural centre and tours were really wonderful and highly recommended. Our family self catered but that took some preplanning. We are looking forward to returning in another season to get a different perspective on the environment and sights.
