We didn't have breakfast but, upon leaving, we bought coffee takeaway and toasties. Both were fine but, very busy cafe, had to wait awhile but, I suppose this is a good thing.

The Hotel is a short drive to the centre of Canberra - shopping centre, War Memorial, Parliament House, museums and art gallery are all easily accessible by car. We didn't use public transport. Plenty of secure parking at the back of the Hotel and hotel room easily accessible. Staff at reception and dining room were all genuinely friendly and helpful in assisting us with our requests. We enjoyed the varied buffet selection of food for breakfast, all prepared and presented to a high standard - staff did very well catering for the large number of guests on Anzac Day and prepared a take away breakfast for our early departure. Our room was spacious, clean and quiet and we appreciated having a mid sized fridge, microwave and some kitchen utensils for preparing a few meals ourselves. Heating is comfortable in the room on a cold evening. The Hotel garden is well looked after and we appreciated the beautiful view from our room. Built in 1927 we enjoyed how the Hotel is full of history and well maintained with interesting photos and books - I loved the creaky old timber floors and architecture.

In a quiet area but close to Woden shopping and Canberra hospitals etc. Check in and out was very easy and uncomplicated. The host Phil promptly answered any inquiries.
