A thoroughly liveable city, Melbourne has a buzzy vibe and an Aussie sense of fun. There’s always something going on, and one of its many festivals is Moomba – Australia’s largest free arts festival. Well worth a visit are the National Gallery of Victoria and the Melbourne Aquarium, whose highlight is walking through a clear tunnel as sharks swim over your head.
The city’s most recognisable landmark is Flinders Street Station, whose yellow and green façade matches the colour of the historic Melbourne trams that still run around the world’s longest tram network. Keep an eye out for the street art as you travel.
Shopping in Melbourne is fantastic. Queen Victoria Market is the largest open-air market south of the Equator, while the La Trobe Street shopping centre has over 300 stores. For food, don’t miss Little Italy - the Carlton area.
South of the Yarra River is St Kilda, home to the best beach and Albert Park, where the F1 Australian Grand Prix is held. However, this is not the city’s only sporting heritage. It’s also the home of Aussie Rules football and the MCG, a must-see for cricket fans.
Booking.com has a range of Melbourne accommodation from hotels to hostels and motels, some near Melbourne Airport.
I stayed at accom for the F1 only as I worked there.
I stayed at accom for the F1 only as I worked there. Trams were unrealible & didnt run to times as advertised for special events. Not many close restyrants or shops, just 7/11 a few blocks away

Melbourne is a very friendly city with lots to see and do.
Melbourne is a very friendly city with lots to see and do. The free trams in the central business district were a great bonus and made travelling around easy. Most things are accessible and easy to walk to. I would recommend Melbourne as a city to visit.

Disappointing.
Disappointing. The photos online were nothing like the room we booked. I generally stay at 4 star or above rated hotels, and I would not consider this hotel to be a 4 star hotel (which is what I booked). We were only in Melbourne for two nights for a concert, and if we had been staying any longer I would have moved to another hotel.

There is a lot to do in Melbourne CBD and South Bank.
There is a lot to do in Melbourne CBD and South Bank. You need a full week, especially if you want to go further than those CBD areas. It was just shame that the free tourist tram had been cancelled for the week we were there as that it a very easy way to navigate the CBD.

Melbourne has something for everyone, Art, Culture, Sporting...
Melbourne has something for everyone, Art, Culture, Sporting Events, Great Food and Drinks. The Public transport is excellent especially when using the free city tram network. Southbank has plenty of dining options a huge variety of food and prices. The laneways and Alleys are fantastic for spotting unusual street art and quirky independent shops. We always enjoy a quick visit to the city.
Best base from which to explore Melbourne. Apartments are huge and have balconies with expansive views over Flagstaff Gardens and the city skyline. In so many other CBD hotels you just feel boxed in. Love being able to walk 10 mins for a breakfast with the locals in North Melbourne, or, walk 10 mins to Hardware Lane to catch a bus that will have you in Lygon St, Carlton, or the top of Smith and Brunswick streets in Collingwood/Fitzroy in under 20
mins. This is what Melbourne is all about: discoveries around every corner!
You cannot fault the location of The Oaks. Very central and within walking distance to Crown casino, DFO outlet, Melbourne CBD just across the bridge and all the lovely restaurants along the Southbank promenade.
Apartment was serviced day. Views of the Melbourne skyline are fabulous. The foyer and rest of the hotel was very clean. We had the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment and it was very spacious and comfortable. Fully functional kitchen was stocked daily with tea/coffee etc.
The location was convenient and accessible to the Melbourne CBD. There was a tram stop right outside the hotel. It’s reasonably close to the Southern Cross Station which was our destination from the airport using the Skybus.
The hotel room was spacious and clean. The check in process was easy, Nick was friendly and very helpful. Bonus for having a lift; especially with lots of luggage. We dined for lunch at the on-site restaurant, the Asian cuisine was very good.
Our room was large and spacious with a very comfortable bed. As it was at the front of the hotel, we had a verandah overlooking Lygon Street - we really enjoyed that. The staff were very attentive to our needs. The location was perfect as it was on the main restaurant/coffee part of Lygon Street. We always choose to stay here when visiting Melbourne. Access to public transport is excellent and it is an easy walk into the CBD.
We felt so lucky to find this apartment! The location is in the heart of Melbourne CBD, so walking distance to a huge number of great restaurants, cafes, bars, and shopping. It's tastefully decorated (which seems rare with Melbourne CBD rental apartments!), and has a good-sized living area. The two bedrooms are spaced apart, which is nice for privacy and if you are travelling with a snorer! Would definitely stay here again.
General: Second stay in Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne, good amenities as always. Process was convenient when we decided to extend our stay by a day.
Location: Very accessible to Melbourne CBD, tram stops, and Flinders Street Station.
Room: Cleanliness was maintained every day.
Bed: Clean and comfortable.
Other amenities: Breakfast and luggage storage were again included during our stay. Staff was friendly.
A beautiful apartment with stunning 180 degree views of the city, and well equipped too. It was close to transport and the CBD, and great value when compared with other 3bd apartments at the price point we paid. The apartment was also within 2 mins of a Woolworths and bottle shop, which made shopping for supplies very easy.
For the price, this was a good room. The beds were pretty comfy and the overall cleanliness of the room was nice. The best thing about this hotel was the location and price. So, if you're not too precious about comfort, this is a great spot to get around Melbourne CBD and surrounds.
Great location, so central to everything within the CBD. Trams are a block either side, and the shopping district is a quick walk.
Staff are super friendly and are more than happy to assist with any requests.
The hotel is super quiet, modern and the rooms are a decent size.
Cosy little hotel located just outside of the CBD and adjacent to Fitzroy, Cartlon and other Melbourne Inner suburbs, so within easy reach of most of what we wanted to do. We walked almost everywhere, Onsite parking ($30/n) was a tad exy but its Melbourne.
Location was good, it was in the city CBD on the side, you could still walk and catch a tram if you wanted or drive. The apartments are like brand new. The gym and pool and spa were awesome, my kids loved the heated pool and spa and the pool was so big.
We stayed at the Westin so we could see a show in town. Very convenient location. Excellent service from everyone at the hotel, from the minute we arrived to the minute of our departure.
I will never stay anywhere else in Melbourne CBD.
Friendly staff, good North Melbourne location, convenient to tram routes to CBD etc and easy walking distance to local amenities. Apartments are spacious, with full kitchen and have potential to be more pleasant to stay.
I loved the location of the hotel and how convenient it was to access locations in the CBD. The room was quiet, you could barely hear any outside noise and the staff were all extremely kind.
Location was great, hotel is clean and staff polite. Being opposite Flinders station, it's close to the CBD but also to Marvel ,AAMI stadium etc. it's placed in the free tram zone too.
Facilities for price were great. Access to Melbourne CBD was easy. Hotel bar and restaurant very handy and reasonably priced. Staff friendly and helpful, 11am checkout.
Arguably the best placed Hotel in Melbourne - central, on the River, easy walk to everything in Southbank & CBD
