For a big town it lacked a choice of restaurants, we arrived quite late as travelling and nothing was open in town. Actually felt like a ghost town. Good place to stop if travelling ocean road but only need one night there! Beautiful historic town with famous landmarks, such as the volcanic crater lake (Blue Lake) and the Umpherston Sinkhole and sunken gardens. Very walkable town with lots of boutique shops, restaurants and coffee houses.

Much to see and do within a 100km radius of the city. It is a pity the the Princess Margaret Rose Cave is currently shut and there is no indication about a reopening date. The expected date (End of 2023) is now history. Direction signs should carry this information. Naracoorte Caves excellent. Get directions to "Hells Hole" and go for a short walk, Be amazed! Visitor centre is very helpful. If you are reasonably fit climb Mt Schank and walk the rim of an dormant volcano.

However the location is v central and it is noisy despite double glazing. Ear plugs did the job. It's also a casino, which is not everybody's thing. We ate in the restaurant where servicecwas good but the food slightly underwhelmed. May be expectations were too high. Parking is free and reasonably ample. We enjoyed our stay and the room was exceptional
