Great hidden germ! Natural atmosphere in the middle of bush-like, close to beach
Hot tub was a bonus to heal fatigue from sun and travelling and a surprise possum visit while relaxing in the tub bubble.
To comercial . Local council likes to jam parking meters everywhere you go so they can milk money out you, this totally discourages stopping anywhere to visit local shops. The boat ramps even had metered parking , people would like to have an unlimited day out in their boat and not be concerned about how much it will cost. Disgusting greed.

What a darling place to visit with friends!
What a darling place to visit with friends! If you're looking for a quiet girls weekend/getaway there are multitudes of great restaurants and cafes, lots of homeware shopping and boutiques, and lots of massage and nail salons. So awesome, would go again in a heartbeat.

The whole area is beautiful, with many beautiful beaches, waterways and National Parks. Whether you want to swim, bushwalk, bird watch, get into photography, go boating, dive, explore, whale or dolphin watch, visit nearby islands or just simply relax, Nelson Bay/ Port Stephens Area is awesome. It has Great places to dine, my favourites Sirenas Seaside at d'Albora Marina, The Deck at Soldiers Point and Bubs Seafood also at the marina. My last holiday there, I really needed to relax. I had 9 days of perfect weather, ocean swimming, beach and bush walking everyday. Getting pampered at Sirene Spa Shoal Bay everyday, either with massages or sauna and spa.

Great selection of restaurants, cafes & bars within easy walking distance, particularly enjoyed Mavericks for the food, location overlooking the Marina and friendly staff. Large Woolworths to get all of your food for self-catering. Great local bus service to see the wider area plus ferry to Tea gardens and Dolphin cruises - what is not to like! The staff at the Tourist Information office were very helpful.

Nelson Bay is one of my favourite spots in the Australian coast so far, it is relaxing with beautiful beaches like One Mile Beach and Birubi Beach. There is good night life if you go to Shoal Bay and also good restaurants.

I visit Nelson Bay regularly for the last 26 years.
I visit Nelson Bay regularly for the last 26 years. It has become a very advanced tourist destination where people can find different options for entertainment and relaxation. The Port Stephens area in general, is beautiful and has many attractions, like dolphin and whale watching, game fishing or just recreational fishing from many good spots, sporting and adventure facilities and variety of accommodation for every budget. This time, I was more impressed by how green the area was, due to recent frequent rainfall.
What a breathtaking view! We so enjoyed waking up to the sunrise and eating breakfast overlooking the bay, even in the rain, and falling asleep to the sound of waves. Being able to walk to the Little Beach Boathouse “Below Deck” and the Shoal Bay Country Club made the location perfect. Also being able to fit our family of 3 generations was fantastic. Kids room could (in theory) sleep 5 which is quite incredible! The apartment itself is older but it had everything we needed. We enjoyed ourselves and can recommend to others :)
Great facilities for little ones. Loved the free kids putt putt and the pool area (with built-in wading pool for kids) was kept really tidy especially considering the constant weather changes. The apartment was very clean and tidy plus had everything needed for a family stay-in. It offered lots of privacy from others staying there without feeling like you were detached at all from the facilities within the complex.
The host Daniel was very communicative and it was easy access to get in with the key box. The host texted me on the day of entry the the pin number again. Daniel the host was very friendly, the place was exceptionally clean, basic and very easy to have your pet there, it was fully fenced. The street is quiet. You are within a minute to the beach in Nelson Bay and within 10 minutes to Shoal Bay.
Great location overseeing Nelson Bay. right next door to Golf Course within walking distance, good distance from Gan Gan lookout. spacious unit, self-contained kitchen. Friendly staff at the reception and quality outdoor pool facilities. The Nelson Wat restaurant was actually one of the highst ranked ones with good selection of f&b.
Highly recommend for family trips
Kids loved the pool and how close everything was - a short stroll to town centre and marina or a short drive to the many lovely beaches of Nelson Bay. The stay was comfortable and had everything we needed for a family with two kids under 7. Recommended!
Fantastic property. Convenient to both Nelson Bay centre and Shoal Bay.
Good sized balcony and lounge room.
The heated pool was great. Perfect for my 4 year old. The mini putt putt was a fun extra to entertain the kids.
Friendly staff.
I’ll be back
We like the location and the price, the property is set between Nelson Bay and Shoal Bay - both within easy walking distance. Room was comfortable with the necessities that we needed. The lady at the front desk was very helpful and welcoming.
Very enjoyable stay in comfortable , spacious apartment. Great views from our north facing balcony overlooking the city ,bay and beaches beyond .Very good kitchen for inhouse meals. Friendly ,helpful staff
Perfectly suitable unit. Clean with everything you could possibly need. Good location enabling a short walk to shoal bsy shops and Nelson Bay. Easy beach access. Appreciated the lift. Lovely and quiet.
Short distance from Nelson Bay shops, parking available close to unit, the view, two bedrooms and two bathrooms, kitchenette, lockbox for key, cleanliness and presentation on arrival, free WiFi.
The oaks is located in the heart of Nelson Bay, so it's only a short walk to the main town centre. We loved the free parking underneath the hotel. The room was comfy and had a nice big bathroom.
The hotel staff were welcoming and everything ran smoothly. Our room was very roomy and clean with the hotel a leisurely walk to our dinner venue. Great value right in the heart of Nelson Bay.
The property is set on beautiful bush surrounds. The property itself was clean, comfortable and enough space for a family. The ability to cook was also a bonus. Easy drive to Nelson Bay
Perfect location, right in the centre of nelson bay. The pool area is very well. Also, the hotel has a barbeque area around the pool. It is perfect place for evening drinks and dinner
Rooms are big!
Breakfast was sooooo great
We had dinner at hotel restaurant it was great
Unexpected welcome teddy bear made my little one’s trip much happier!
