The studio was very clean with a comfortable lounge and bed. We had everything we needed and we enjoyed the setting of the studio in landscaped gardens. The studio is in a quiet area with only a short drive into town.

Quiet country town close to Lake Glenbawn and surrounded by horse studs. Main Street was very quiet and a lot of roadworks happening (which may have contributed to the town being "dead" and not much open up the main street on a Saturday). No major retail shops at all in town either but it does have 2 supermarkets and several takeaway options including maccas, pizza and chinese.
The Belmore Hotel is however a lovely old pub for a meal and a drink in the beer garden (and the live music was a bonus).
Lake Glenbawn is a short drive from town and looks amazing but $15 day entry for a car so we only saw what was visible from the drive out.

Scone is a nice and tidy small town worth visiting for an overnight stay. Currently, it is suffering from staff shortages like many rural places, so be prepared to find reduced menus at restaurants and pubs and to wait a bit longer than usual. They are doing their best, so one must appreciate their considerable effort and hospitality.

Scone had some great cafe's and boutiques. The surrounding countryside was lovely. We particularly enjoyed Halo cafe and The Cottage restaurant. The Herd store was very nice. We enjoyed trips to Murrurundi.

The town is quite nice.
The town is quite nice. There are two good museums, one of which is dedicated to the 'Walers', the NSW horses that became famous in WW1 in the Middle East, particularly in the 4th Australian Light Horse charge at Beersheba in 1917. There are at least two good restaurants in Scone as well, one of which is rather special. .

My visit to Scone in the beautiful Upper Hunter was a must see for me as I have a keen interest in visiting regional centres in NSW. As a keen supporter of the horse breeding industry I enjoyed a drive past tour of the major studs which are part of the worlds second largest stud scene. The headquarters of the Australian Stock Horse Association Is located here as well as an Equine Research facility. Scone & it’s surrounding countryside is an ongoing tribute to the role the magnificent loyal hardworking horse has played in the development of the entire country.
There was just so much to like about this property . It was warm , the kitchen was amazing and the breakfast and snack food provided was ample and of great quality. Our host Kath even had two huge slices of homemade carrot cake there for us to have with our cuppa once we arrived. They host had provided containers for recycling- something that we really appreciated.
Although about 3 km out of the Scone township the bike path made it an easy flat walk into Scone . It was just so quiet at the accommodation. Just what we needed!
Booked the room that you showed me I thought. I wàs allocated a room upstairs ln the hotel which had nothing more in it but 2 beds. I went back to reception and told them that it was not what you showed me on your ..website for my booking. I was told by them that I could have a motel room but it would be $105 dollars.Very poor on your part.I wish for you to refund me the extra money I paid. If not I will not ever book through you again. Ronald Pearce
The motel was perfect for our little stop over in Scone. The facilities were clean, the room was clean, the staff were absolutely lovely.
We had the Chicken woodfire Pizza on our first night, and it was delicious!
We stayed with our 11month old, and the surroundings were quiet (apart from the odd truck or two).
It was perfect as somewhere to put our heads down.
I know when I'm back in town, this is where I will be staying.
We stayed here because previous reviews were very good. It did not disappoint . We were very comfortable.Room was nice and warm. The bonus was ordering pizza which was delivered to our room at a specified time.
Also with the pizza were two plates and knifes and forks. Well done Isis Motel ! You deserve to be successful .
Also very friendly people. Could not complain about anything.
Loved the apartment. Everything that you need to stay was there. Apartments are very close to Coles which makes it even more convenient for families with kids in particular. there are a number of coffee shops/cafes around for breakfast. Loved the Scones there. Would definitely recommend anyone to stay in the Portman house if they are planning to stay in Scone.
The room we stayed in was a huge, beautiful room on the second floor of the historic Airlie House. It was very quiet, clean, character-filled and comfortable. Lovely comfy warm bed.
The Manager was friendly and helpful.
It was a handy location and we had a short walk to the Scone RSL Club for dinner.
Easy walking distance to everything in Scone, close to the Thoroughbred Pub and right next to Coles for groceries. We were in town over the weekend, so not a lot of cafes/stores open, but I think that is pretty common for a country town. Beautiful town and surrounding areas, good stay overall.
Soooo comfortable with relaxing accomplished in three separate areas. Our hosts were very hospitable allowing early access. A small and delicious range of snacks and teas provided. We were in Scone unintentionally due to weather and couldn’t have been happier with the reception at Inn Scone.
Step back where you can relive a past era in time. Had a specially quiet peaceful sleep. Unique feeling.
Hope you guys can keep it going unchanged. At the point in time where old traditional hotels that haven't been renovated much are something new and different to experience
A great place to stay if you're going to be in Scone. Easy to walk to the shops/restaurants/cafes/pubs etc. Plenty of parking. I'd go back just to use the shower/towels - it was the BEST hot shower I have experienced in ages and the nicest smelling / softest towels too.
This is a charming lodge, beautifully positioned in the Scone countryside. The suites are large and extremely comfortable. Very private because of the thoughtfully created gardens.
The common rooms are lovely. Breakfast was an added bonus.
We’ll stay again!
Our room at Isis Motel was clean and compact and only a short walk to The Thorobred eatery and Coles. Wonderful strong hot shower was very welcome after a long day travelling and always appreciate fresh milk. Thanks Glen for a friendly welcome and farewell.
Ellie and the team at Belmore Hotel were very welcoming during my stay for work. The rooms have been renovated well whilst keeping the heritage of the hotel and the subtle music throughout the day gave a nice atmosphere.
The hotel was lovely, clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly and accommodating with all our questions. Would recommend this place to anyone and can’t wait for next years rodeo to stay again!
