I was very surprised to receive a rather negative phone call from the owner after we had left about my review of their property. And with this in mind I would probably not return to this property.

What a lovely town!!!
What a lovely town!!! I wish we had longer there, we stopped over after leaving Kangaroo Island. So pretty and quiet, lots of antique shops and a car museum, It seems the whole town has been renovated. All the old buildings are in great condition and the gardens in the town are lovely. I hope I can get back there and stay a couple of nights.

We enjoyed walking around the interesting historic town and lovely gardens. There were a few interesting antique shops. We stayed at the Victoria Hotel, the room was good, clean and comfortable and we had lovely roast lamb for dinner in their bistro. A few cafes in town looked good, but we didn't get a chance to try them. Monarto Safari Park is about 30 mins drive away passing through lovely farmland. This is a great park but I think their safari bus (hop on hop off style) times could be worked better to not miss out animals.

Strathalbyn is such a lovely little town with the central park and all the lovely old buildings, its a shame we didn't have a bit more time, a 2-3 day slot would allow you to see all this area has to offer and its not far away from other great little areas. wonder the streets look at the old architecture, check out the Gilbert Motor museum ( WED - SUN) all the antique shops in town

Absolutely stunning place. Looking for a place to stay?
Absolutely stunning place. Looking for a place to stay? Highly recommend the Gasworks b&b
The hosts are fabulous. Spoiling us with treats& certainly generous with the breakfast supplies. Very comfortable accommodation. Beautiful historic property with stunning gardens.
Continental breakfast on our room was great. Comfortable bed, a big room and very clean. The room was quieter than we expected being a Saturday night at a pub! We were lucky to get a parking spot on site, as only 3 spaces available. They organised a booking for a table in the bistro and we had a lovely pub meal. The steak was good as was the roast of the day. It was busy in the bistro so we were glad reception suggested to book. We enjoyed our stay. The town is very historic with a lovely park, next time we will stay a bit longer to explore.
All of the makings were provided for a self catering breakfast, including lovely fresh eggs from the resident chickens. Self catering was good as you could have breakfast exactly when wanted at at your pace, and as much or as little as you liked. The standard of the accommodation was exceptional, with all needs catered for. The property is surrounded by magnificent gardens with lots of native birdlife. Our hosts Graham and Heather could not do enough to ensure our comfort. The property is well located in central Strathalbyn.
I booked this place as a little getaway for my partners birthday. We have not had a better experience! The hosts we’re lovely and accomodating. The place was spotless, welcoming and homely. The views were incredible, over looking the beautiful Strathalbyn. We sat on the front deck watching the sunrise accompanied by hot chocolate and blankets. We will definitely be back, it was the perfect reset that we needed !
In room breaky available. Purchased mini-bar style goodies from reception.
We booked this hotel because of the EV charger out front. It's run by Chargefox, not affiliated with hotel. Elsewhere we have had to use an extension cord hanging out windows, or if lucky an outdoor power point. This is not ideal.
When heading back to Victoria we stayed here again.
Our daughter's wedding was at Woodburn Homestead, so we were too busy to enjoy the beautiful outlook & quietness of the location. Next time when we come back it will be more relaxing & will enjoy this very modern, clean Villas & would highly recommend to others looking for accommodation near Strathalbyn.
Evansdale Villas has amazing views, very private which is exactly what you want in a Covid safe world. the property was absolutely spotless and we felt very safe knowing that the place was well cleaned. beautiful breakfast provisions and wine. we will return
The location of the cottages in a garden environment provided privacy and quiet. As well as being close to several tourist attractions - including the delightful village of Strathalbyn - it was also great for staying 'home' and reading a book.
The pillows and mattress were SO COMFY. On par with 5-star hotel beds. The spa was great of course and the french press coffee was a nice touch. It’s also very central in Strath, surrounded by cafes and right near the local Woolies.
Great location with Robin Hood hotel and Appleseed Cafe, both excellent meals a short walk away. One of the few motels having distilled ice blocks in freezer for my afternoon G&T on arrival. Rooms clean and spacious.
Staff were exceptional, they went out of their way to help. Restaurant was cozy and food was great. The best espresso martini's I have had in ages. Strathalbyn is a lovely little town cant wait to come back.
luxurious in all respects, just like in the photos! super facilities, great views day and night with lights of Strathalbyn in distance. private and quiet. grea5 spot to retreat to after exploring local area.
Beautiful cottage in the owners' beautiful garden, so woken up by the birds. Strathalbyn is a lovely small town, with plenty of places to eat. We were provided with all we needed for a full breakfast.
Didn't spend a lot of time at the accommodation, but nice spacious room, clean and tidy. Didn't see staff as we checked in late, and left before office hours, but staff were accommodating of this
Beautiful country hotel in the centre of Strathalbyn.
comfortable large room, nice to have electric blanket and basic breakfast supplies in room to have at anytime.
The Hotel is lovely and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Easy to park the car at the front of the hotel too. Walking distance to city centre.
