Tanunda is a lovely little town with a good selection of restaurants and shops. It has character and the locals were friendly. It has a cycle trail running through it which is good for walking and cycling. Bikes can be hired locally. Getting around was easy, we walked to dinner and took a taxi to lunch outside town at Hentley Farm.

Tanunda’s a lovely place to visit and the perfect base for winery visits. Plenty of good eateries and choice of wine cellars in Tanunda itself. Ferment Asian restaurant is lovely and the Angus burger at Char Grill was cooked to perfection. Z wines does great tropical sangria jugs. Nosh cafe is a quirky place and a bit like a tardis with very friendly staff. Krondoff cellar staff very friendly and good wine choice. Visitor centre very helpful and definitely worth visiting to check out what is on in the area.

A nice town catering for travellers to the Barossa Valley.
A nice town catering for travellers to the Barossa Valley. A typical tourist town providing accommodation and many restaurants (some of dubious quality such as Char Barossa which is to be avoided at all costs), but a pleasant place to stay all the same. Very central to many of the wineries in the region.

Perfect base to visit the many wineries around Barossa.
Perfect base to visit the many wineries around Barossa. There is an abundance of great cafes and restaurants with 1918 and Bar Musque on the top of our list for dinner and Blackbird have incredible breakfasts. Everyone from the cafes to Foodland supermarket were so friendly and the passion they have for the Barossa, vineyards, local produce and history of the area is amazing. All cellar doors were exceptional with super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Bethany and Rockfords were outstanding. A visit to Maggie Beers Farm shop and the Chocolate Factory is also recommended and very enjoyable to relax and appreciate the surrounds. Easy cycling around Tanunda to enjoy the scenery at closer range was a lot of fun. Wonderful location with plenty more on offer than noted above.

Tanunda and Angaston are both beautiful towns.
Tanunda and Angaston are both beautiful towns. Good food, good wine and beautiful scenery. Strongly suggest Casa Caboni for a great authentic Italian meal. The Clubhouse accomodation was very modern, spacious and a guaranteed great night's sleep. Good dining facilities available for lunch and dinner. Breakfast isn't available but there are plenty of cafe options close by. Wineries are also great. Gibson and Willow are well worth a look (and taste). Best of all you don't have to buy a flight. You can drink what you like! 10/10
Very clean. Great convenient location walking distance to cellar doors, restaurants, and cafes. Comes with lovely amenities so that a family can just hit the ground running without fuss! There is even a great gym walking distance. We were particularly grateful to receive a lovely pre baked zucchini slice, as I had to fly with three children on my own last minute, and arriving into Tanunda at witching hour. All went smoothly though thanks to the lovely hosts with their hospitality. We would definitely stay again!
There is much to like about JCR starting with the location. it’s quiet, the setting is lovely, and it’s picturesque. The bath tubs are huge and perfect for a couple. The proprietor is very accommodating with suggestions and any help needed. The TVs accept Chromecast and internet appears to be Starlink so it’s easy to watch any streaming show or movie you choose instead of network TV most hotels offer. Dishes provided were very helpful and nice quality.
A wonderful old house a block back from the main street of Tanunda. Divided into 3 separate units with own access and own parking makes this place just great. Very nice location, very quiet. Very easy to walk up town to all the shops including all the cafe's and restaurants. Old world charm with modern amenities. Very comfortable to stay in. Also a nice courtyard to sit in and enjoy the sun.
location, lovely garden, so clean, everything I needed. good wifi, the TV’s were excellent quality and there was internet access to Netflix and YouTube if wanted. Short walk to good restaurants, cafes, supermarket and chemist. Right off Main Street in Tanunda. Beds were very comfortable, good entertaining areas. wine and chocolate and vouchers for discount at local eatery provided.
The location was fantastic and the service was incredible. We were able to get to all of our destinations very easily and the hotel was never too far away. John at the reception desk was perfect and help set our experience well. Caitlin made the rooms feel like a home and there was nothing to fault. Thank you for everything!
Amazing little cottage with a very rustic and traditional look, and yet super warm and comfy. The wood burner warmed up the whole cottage quite quickly and nicely.
And the breakfast supplies were fresh and more than enough with a few different options.
Also, walking distance from Tanunda's city center.
It was a fantastic location and the cottage has everything you would possibly need for a fantastic stay in the Barossa. From the open fires, to the welcome cheese platter - everything was catered for and brunch and restaurants only a short stroll away. Highly recommended!
Charming, clean, old-world style cottage. Menge cottage is quite spacious. Great breakfast provisions. Well appointed kitchen and bathroom. Bookcase full of interesting books. Location very good. Quiet street but within easy walking distance of Tanunda's main street.
The house was one of the best stay I had in recent times. It had all the things in the house from cutlery, fridge, washing machine. The way we were welcomed in the house was great. I would recommend this place and would be my destination next time I visit
We loved our stay at Langmeil. Beautiful cottages with very personalized extras. The owners were lovely and the sauna and spa were a treat! Great location too. We borrowed some bikes for our stay, but could walk to the Main Street easily.
Beautiful welcome! Music playing, subtle lighting and heating on. Exceptionally clean. Loved all the plants in the unit - made it feel even more welcoming. An easy stroll into town and located right next to Chateau Tanunda!!
Perfect location. Walking distance to all the restaurants in Tanunda. Every need was catered for. Fabulous host. And a wonderful garden to hang out in and enjoy a glass of wine after a day in the Barossa Valley.
Our host Sophia was excellent. Helpful with a bubbly friendly personality. A nice breakfast was served on the patio. Location to Tanunda town and wineries was just a few minutes drive. Would stay again
The water park and movies were great to entertain the kids in the evenings. Location is good with a short stroll into the Tanunda town centre. Coffee van in the mornings was also nice.
