I like Trinity Beach because it's out of the city of Cairns...
I like Trinity Beach because it's out of the city of Cairns but only an easy 20min drive. It's a little closer to Port Douglas (about a 50 drive to Port Douglas) in case you'd like to go snorkelling out of Port Douglas on the Reef. Trinity Beach is a nice place to relax, a great alternative to the Cairns CBD. No much to do - which is a good thing - but wander, visit cafes and bars, swim in the pool or just relax with a book. Close enough to Cairns to travel to reef and other tours, or to Palm Cove for lunch - public transport is conveniently located.

A short walk to the beach. Lovely clean rooms. Kitchen had everything you needed. Plenty of towels for home and beach. Aircon in each room. Patio area where you enter. Would stay again. Have already booked the next trip.

While the beach at Trinity Beach drops off into deep water quickly and it was often choppy, lifeguards are on duty from 9 to 5 every day. They are all friendly and helpful. The water temp was wonderful for a quick dip or a longer swim. The landscaped area along the beach front is very clean and attractive with plenty of seating and excellent bbq and shower facilities. There is a good variety of places for coffees and meals.

Bed linen and pillows, towels. Location. Easy walk to beach, tavern, red cross shop. Short walk to other shops. Nice pool. Washer and dryer in bathroom. Washer very rusty. Tumble dryer new but last person didnt remove lint. Scruffy outdoor appearance, unkempt weeds. Dark, drab apartment. Very dirty oven. Wiped door and inside with paper towels, lots of black sheets. No baking tins. Had to re arrange cupboards to provide a space for food items. We were there 11 days. Bedroom had no available plug sockets. Bedhead covered only one and bedside lamps were plugged into those. Very old bedside clock unplugged on side. Same was true in lounge, single bed up against sockets on wall. We re arranged bed so as to gain sockets for charging our phones and tablets. Had a service half way through, which seemed to be linen change and vac only. No replacement of bin bag or toilet roll. We booked this by mistake. Thought we were booking next door, where we had stayed before, which is considerably nicer. We have also stayed at several other places, cheaper which were better. Sorry but room for improvement.

Bradley was a fabulous host, and the only tour advisor you would need for the area - lots of practical tips on places to go (and what swimming spots are best). I travel a lot with work, am a platinum one with Qantas and a diamond level member of Hilton and so forth. Our 3 bedroom apartment had everything we needed including multiple air conditioners and the pool while a very good size also had very little people in it so it was almost like our own private pool. Trinity beach is well located and didnt feel much of a drive to most of the major attractions and back into Cairns.AnthonyAustralia
