In the 10 years I have been in WA I have never stopped in a room that exceeded my expectation both with the luxury and value for money of the room but the warm and friendly staff that met all our needs.

Great location, next to train station. Bar and restaurant is lovely, convenient bottle shop too. Staff friendly and always happy to help. The rooms are really lovely, high ceilings and loving decor. We really loved the hotel.

Great stay at a beautiful winery. Private,well equipped cottage in the vines at Upper Reach winery. Wonderful wines to taste and enjoy. Great food at the restaurant with the option of more informal dining at the Treehouse Pizza Bar. Excellent location for exploring the wine and food that Swan Valley has to offer a mere 30 minutes from Perth airport

Sandalford Vineyard restaurant degustation menu with matched wines were exceptional. The wine tasting we did before the meal was exceptional with some unusual wines offered and which we thought was good value for money. A very experienced person served us who new his product and was happy to answer questions and helped us to choose a selection of wines that suited our tastes.

We stayed overnight on a Sunday night and according to their websites, many of the cafes and restaurants were either closed on a Monday or not open for breakfast. Even The Colony at Mandoon's website said they were not open on a Monday until 10am (but in fact they were open well before that). They don't answer their phones over the weekend, so you are totally relying on website information without knowing whether it has been updated. It would be worthwhile phoning the cafes the previous week to ensure they will be open on Monday morning as I cannot confirm or deny whether they were open or not.

Room was cosy but not stuffy like a hotel room. The movie selection available free of charge is unlike anywhere else we have stayed (we usually have to rely on netflix from our phones but didn't have to this time). Parking was free and right outside our door. We only stayed one night but couldn't definitely have stayed a couple more.

It's a beautiful time of year to visit the Swan Valley and the gardens and surrounds are fabulous. Mandoon Sparking is delicious and it was a treat to have a complementary glass on arrival. Well staffed venue and all the facilities are of a high standard and well maintained.
