When i visited Yamba is was hammering down with rain which i guess is unusual. It made my short stay a bit bland as the beach was off and the town was very wet. However, i noticed two very busy restaurants, a nice little collection of shops and takeaways. a few drinking holes etc. Id say when the sun is shining it looks a 100% more appealing. Im told the surfing is great but not my thing. wortha visit if youre a surfer or just travelling up the coast. lots of waterways, pelicand, wildlife. Its just off the highway so easy access and when youre there you feel like youre in the middle of nowhere so that works! Worth a trip for 2-4 days in my opinion.

Lovely place to spend a week or more for a summer holiday. Local restaurants are varied and offer good quality food and service. Golf Club offers a championship layout and the bar and eatery ate excellent. A visit to the boutique brewery - eatery (The Wobbly Chook) is a must.PeterAustralia - 10Scored 10

Yamba is the most delightful place, I would live there if I could. Everything is so convenient. Restaurants are great, and I very rarely come home without a new pair of shoes - the shoe shop is excellent.

I only stayed overnight on my way from QLD to VIC so didn't get to see much of the town. It seemed like a nice little seaside town though and would have loved to be able to stay longer to explore it.

Accommodation rooms in hotels of this era were not spacious having usually just a wash basin in the corner and a bed. The renovation that has been carried out on the rooms has been done as tastefully as it could be but there is no getting away from it that the Superior Queen Room we had was tight on space. Of course to offset the drawbacks there is a lounge/bistro area with the best views in town.

While the rooms are very basic (the bunk bed one was) it’s hard to get past the view in morning of the sun rising over the Pacific Ocean. We were told by property manager Yamba Iluka real estate it had been damaged in March and had not been able to get fixed due to bad weather and would take a significant time to dry out then be repaired.
