The host of this charming hotel was very warm and welcoming, creating an unforgettable ambience. Though the restaurant usually does not work on Monday - they made an exception for us and provided an exquisite yet affordable meal - excellent fish and white wine. Breakfast was also very nice - a variety of local food and plenty of coffee. The Auberge is a beautiful old house with wooden furniture, spacious rooms and comfy beds. I would like to come here in summer to enjoy again local food , served on a cosy terrace at the hotel.

We stayed there to visit Tournai. The room and bathroom were spacious and most importantly, clean. The kids had ample space in the room. There was a small kitchen with all necessary stuffs you need, although we did not cook ourselves. The staffs were very friendly and helpful.
Everything was functioning properly throughout our stay. We also found a parking spot quite easily in front of the hotel.
We liked the location of the hotel. From our windows, the view of the cathedral was magnificent, especially when it was dark outside. The French border is right behind the cathedral.
Honestly speaking, we did not expect the hotel to be that good, considering the price we paid for it for 4 people. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Melissa. If we ever go back to that region, we will stay there again.
