Kuala Belait, maybe the second largest town in Brunei but there is not much there, not really a tourist area. However it interesting to walk around the shopping area and there are some decent cafes and restaurants. It should be noted that walking outside the main shopping district is difficult due to the lack of footpaths but fortunately traffic is not that heavy off the main roads. A walk along the river can be interesting with a number of fishing boats and the possibility of spotting a crocodile in the river. Local busses are also an interesting challenge, with no apparent timetable, or possibly even no fixed route but a trip to nearby Séria cost just B$1, although first class is a seat without a rip!
