Porto Alegre is a big city with a felling of small town.
Porto Alegre is a big city with a felling of small town. Lots of green areas, parks and squares. The shopping malls are huge. The traffic is not bad, just avoid to go out at rush hour. The main food is bbq (gaucho stye) and has steakhouses all you can eat with a reasonable price everywhere around the city.

Porto Alegre is full of potential.
Porto Alegre is full of potential. However, I did not feel real safe walking by myself in some areas. On Sunday afternoon, I met a local who spoke English. She said my feelings were correct and that I needed to be VERY aware of who was around me. The town itself has an enormous amount of wonderful, old architectural beauties to behold. If you are traveling through this area, a one-day stop is sufficient.

Compared to Salvador, Recife or Rio Porto Alegre has not so much to offer. There are some museums worth a short visit, there is the botanical garden and the Orla do Guaiba, the promenade/beach at the river, where it is especially nice to go to see the sunset. I think three days are enough.
A fourth day can be spent in Gramado and Canela to the waterfall Cascata do Caracol.

the worst part is the city airport connecting flight which is Lima Peru the worst most terrible airport in the world included the working personnel of the airport and the Avianca airline as well. in addition you can buy snitching to drink or eat because is a robbery. An example a little can of domestic beer they charge 7 dollars and a little pack of potato chips 5 dollars. if you can avoid Avianca airlines connecting in Lima Peru , do it , you will thanks me
The hotel was very clean and had an upscale design. The double bed in the room was huge, and the blackout curtains were great for sleeping in late. The location is very convenient for a short stay, as it’s very close to the airport. The staff is very polite and attended to all requests I made promptly. During the COVID-19 pandemic, you must request a booking to use the amenities - which was great because you can get the spa, with the jacuzzi and sauna, all to yourself :) I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel!
I have stayed in more than a hundred hotels in South America and Hotel Erechim is the best hotel, not just in Brazil, but in South America…friendliest staff, clean room and hotel, cold air conditioner, convenient location, super value, great breakfast. I rate the hotel 10 across the board. Keep up the great work!
We chose this hotel because we needed to catch a flight early the next day. The location was perfect. Close to the metro, some markets and restaurants. It was very simple, but adequate for packing up and a good night's rest. The staff let us use the breakfast space and electric kettle for our supper snack.
Laghetto Viverone is in Moinhos, a beautiful area in Porto Alegre. The hotel lobby is in an 1930's house that was preserved intact, with the hotel building behind it. The restaurant is in the upper floor in this same house. It's very pleasant to have breakfast or a drink in rhe evening in the balcony.
Great historic downtown location in Porto Alegre Brazil. No arrival hassles. Helped me with car parking near by. Great break fast at 7AM each day of the stay. Clean rooms and great bathroom. Small mini fridge was really good. Coffee service in the lobby 24 hours.
The hotel seems very recent and it looks very contemporary. The breakfast was very pleasant with various options. Location is very nice due to the large number of restaurants in the area (very convenient if you don’t want to drive after a full day of work.
Porto Alegre is not a very safe city, so choosing a safe neighborhood is very important. As far as this apartment, the location is perfect, the evironment is safe, the facilities are great and the apartment was cleaned very well.
The staff is gentle and always available. The room is comfy and we have a nice view of Porto Alegre from our window. The location is good, closed to pharmacy, shopping and restaurants.
