Gander is a very friendly community, all the restaurant help were cheerful and eager to serve. Delivery of take out was generally twice the expected wait so food was cold and in one case not the product ordered. Some of the trails were quite muddy but I did see an otter which was great.

I was visiting Gander to watch the production of Come from Away!!! Beyond LOVED it! Took a short drive around the town, it was quite beautiful and clean. Will absolutely visit again and take in more sites.

I was in Gander for a car show that was organized by an outside organization. The town hosted an excellent reception and the mayor addressed the guests. The town bent over backwards to make this show a success and on Sunday police and municipal officers lead all the cars in a parade through town. That was real fun.

We were there visiting friends who were also visiting.

We were there visiting friends who were also visiting. Plus we were there to visit family. We drove around to have a look, having been there previously. There are some nice walking trails along the Gander lake. There are some of the usual fast food palaces and plenty of shopping. This is not an overly attractive palace to visit unless you have business or family in the area. On the weekend most places were closed and it was out of season. We did not find any particularly interesting restaurants or other establishments to visit or write about. It is conveniently located and easy to access and find your way around. The Hotels are all within convenient reach and most are just along the main highway, the TCH.

    Gander is a great place.

Gander is a great place. Lots of shopping, eats and activities and has a major airport for travel. Gander has a large number of restaurants for every appetite. Golf Course, playgrounds for the kids and much much more. If you don't book accommodations directly through Steele Hotels they won't honor you Steele Reward Points for your stay. 😪 Its all about saving a buck with rewards.

We just stayed the night. I'm sure there was way more to do. We chose to stay in Gander o our way from St. John's to Grosse Morne as a way of showing some appreciation for their kindness in welcoming the stranded during 9/11. NL is full of interesting sites and beauty. Really should have made this two separate vacations!

The cottage was in a good location, with plenty of room for 2 couples, the check in was fast and efficient and the staff was very friendly. The Gander weather was unusually cool for the time of year and the cabin was cool upon arrival, but quickly warmed up and was quite comfortable.

Location, pet friendly, amenities- everything you would like, beautiful room with fridge, lobby, laundromat, restaurant, breakfast. The grounds are superb. There is also a pool and gym. Staff were excellent. This is one of the cleanest hotels I have stayed in.

Staff were helpful. The hotel is pet friendly - not just service animals. Centrally located in Gander and a good base for exploring the area. There are no square corners which I love! Free parking. Right on the highway but no traffic noise in the room.

Pool was unusable - one of the reasons we chose the hotel. The breakfast was ok but we left early as one woman was coughing all over the food. In this current situation someone should have spoken to her

Wonderful hotel just perfect for travelling out and seeing the beauty of Newfoundland. Kathy at front desk would give us ideas and out of the way excursions.

Bed was extremely old and uncomfortable. The hotel needs updating all around. It was like going back to the 1970s.
