Four Points by Sheraton Hotel & Conference Centre Gatineau-Ottawa, hotel in Gatineau

The Canadian Museum of History is 5 minutes' walk from this completely non-smoking, eco-friendly hotel in Gatineau. Free WiFi and flat-screen TVs are available in every room.

If you are planning on visiting Ottawa or the Ottawa region, this hotel is a very fine alternative to the many choices in the downtown area. The rooms are very spacious, immaculately clean, comfortably carpeted, furnished in a aesthetically pleasing manner, and provide a nice view of the Gatineau riverfront. I chose a room with a single king bed and a sofa and especially appreciated the very long expanse of the desk and the cabinet, which stretched across much of the room’s wall area, providing me with ample space to lay out my things. The real draw of the hotel is its outstanding location — right across the street from the Canadian Museum of History (which, despite the very disappointing renovation of its formerly excellent Canada Hall, still remains Ottawa’s most interesting museum, especially when it hosts special exhibitions on a European theme). One can leave one’s jacket and belongings in one’s hotel room, cross the street and tour the museum at will — even return to the hotel and come back to the museum, if the need arises. Plus, the National Gallery and Parliament Hill are just a short (and enjoyable) walk away across the nearby Alexandra Bridge. And at night, the view of Parliament picturesquely illuminated across the river is one of the most memorable sights in the Ottawa area. Breakfast is as good as one would expect, with not only eggs and bacon on offer but also sauteed vegetables and potatoes. Parking is extra but always available: if the above-ground lot fills up, additional space is on offer in an underground garage on site. Better still, even after the 11:00 check-out time, one can still leave one’s car in the lot on check-out day at no additional cost till 17:00. All in all, I can avidly recommend this hotel for both shorter and longer stays.

For the Vegetarian in your life try La Belle Verte or Astoria Bistro. The Parks in Gatineau have plenty of equipment to entertain my VERY ACTIVE 5 year old granddaughter and close by is the Children's Museum.. It is easy to get around by car, bus or Bike. There is quiet a bit of road work going on at present

We went to Gatineau for a walking/hiking trip.

We went to Gatineau for a walking/hiking trip. It is close to the Gatineau National Park which has a lot of walking trails. It also has other walking trails along the Ottawa and Gatineau Rivers. Great restaurants in the Old Hull area. Shopping centres every where. Lots of highways, hardly any road traffic.

I absolutely did not like the place.

I absolutely did not like the place. Not renovated in decades. Old, smelly and dirty. There was rotten, smelly pork in the fridge that felt warm when opened. We left after we've seen the place and booked another hotel this time. Hotels at least have standards that are verified. It was impossible to sleep there even for a night. I have been at other locations in Gatineau before and is usually convenient and close to all tourist attractions. Do not book this place

Front desk was fine and helpful.

Front desk was fine and helpful. What was not acceptable was no working air conditioning and no working heat. We had 2 false fire alarms where we had to evacuate from the 8th floor down stairs. No housekeeping as they were short staffed for 3 days!! Towels were thread bare. And after a long day, we looked forward to a nice soak in the hot tub but they didn’t have one! And pricing for a breakfast was way too expensive! Most hotels have something included.

No restaurant or meal available during our stay. It was the staff holiday party, nothing was said upon our arrival we even went to see the restaurant during the day, no notice or info on the hôtel website. Very desapointed we got caught at 9pm nothing open in the area ecept for McDonald's. They even told us they would be open for breakfast but were'nt.

From the moment we entered the hotel, the staff was incredible. Helpful, kind and their energy makes you want to come back again. The wonderful lady who checked us in was beyond helpful and the lady who served me coffee in the morning was a pleasure to be around and her energy alone makes you want to come back! The best hotel I've stayed at in a long time.

It was the only property available within 30 minutes of Ottawa during the Tulip Festival weekend when all the power went out in the area, so it provided us a place for our family of 4 (including a 2 and 5 year old) to sleep for the night last minute when our actual hotel would not allow us to check-in.

Quiet hotel in a calm and quiet area. Relatively close to Ottawa and activities in Gatineau, ~30min drive. Was much cheaper than most hotels we saw in area, and since we were going to stay out all day, all we wanted is a good bed to sleep in once we return. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

It is our second visit to this hotel because we really enjoyed our stay in last August (we stayed for 5 days). It is the most beneficial hotel for your money as they offer suites. Therefore, ideal for several days stays if you don't want to spend on restaurants every day.

Nice atmosphere, rooms were clean, staff were very friendly, breakfast wasn’t too bad, everything we needed pretty much included. Free parking is hard to find with hotels but not with this one! Wasn’t a bad location only minutes drive from many popular places in Gatineau.

It is new hotel with very nice bathroom but without shower cap !!! We had to go and ask for it. We reserved the room for four adults and they provided only one soap to use. The rooms are clean and the hotel seems new. The beds have spring mattress and they are soft.

The air-conditioner is automatically adjusted, the place is clean, zero-noise and super fresh. I enjoyed my stay there by shopping near groceries where I found everything I wanted. If I had to pass by Gatineau next time - I would definitely stay there.

The room is nice and clean. The location is a bit far from city centre and not easy to go without car. The most convenient parking lots in front of the building is always full, but there is still lots of parking area at the back of the hotel.

The bath tub took forever to drain. Th pools were only for guests of the spa. Expensive add on. When searching for hotel to his should not be included that they have a pool. Not for families. Restaurants in hotel very expensive too.

We really enjoyed the hotel-provided toiletries. They were all Dove products and a large quantity, which was great for our room of 4 people. We also enjoyed how the swimming pool had salt water and not typical chlorine.
