It's a great jumping off place for other towns, villages and sites in the area as well. If you love architecture, the picturesque, and some great atmospheric restaurants...Port Hope has it.

We enjoyed a live show at the Capitol Theatre.
We enjoyed a live show at the Capitol Theatre. There are many great places to eat. We especially liked a bakery/cafe on Walton that serves great sandwiches and wonderful pastries at an affordable price "Sugar Bush" cafe, I believe.

Very scenic and quaint downtown strip of businesses in historic buildings, well maintained. Variety of restaurants, outdoor patios, antique shops and unique stores. Very pleasant to walk around downtown and surrounding area. Impressive that the town preserved the historic character many years ago.
Lovely architecture, built in 1844. Amazing location. Steps away from the historic main shopping and dining street in Port Hope. Very nice Italian restaurant on ground floor with great outdoor patio. Comfortable rooms with 12 feet ceilings. Friendly staff. The room we stayed in had a portable air conditioner that was attached to the window. I think that was to avoid having to use central air during COVID. Lots of restaurants and pubs to choose from in town.
Beautiful B and B in lovely historic town of Port Hope .
it’s an exceptional place to stay with gorgeous decor, huge comfy bed and amazing breakfast .
Rose is warm, welcoming and friendly . She had created a wonderful place to stay with incredible attention to detail . The decor is so pretty and did I mention the exceptional breakfast?
it’s not a cheap place to stay but it is a cut above the usual B and B’s we have stayed at .
Very pretty setting in historic building on Port Hope's attractive main street, next to river and near shopping, theatre, and restaurants. Third floor room, despite location over busy restaurant, was very quiet and peaceful. Charming heritage feeling but with a nice Danby mini-fridge! Staff, though juggling with a busy restaurant, were courteous, helpful, and responsive. Very comfortable and spacious room.
We booked our stay last minute as we were on the road all day. While the hotel is dated and needs minor repairs aesthetically - it is clean and comfortable
Free parking - gas station and Tim Hortons are right next door
The breakfast is excellent with lots of choices.
The front staff are friendly and hilarious - we needed a 30min later check out as my visit with relatives went longer than expected!
The owners were very friendly. There was a mix up when I tried to change the dates of our reservation online but between the owners and Booking.com customer service everything was sorted out at the same price I booked the room for. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was just as nice as the brand name hotels.
This little gem's furnishings is that of a big hotel chain. it was stylish and the beds were amazingly comfortable. You would not expect that from a motel. The thank you and praise notes are under plexiglass covering the entire front desk. Hats off to hard work and entrepreneurship!
Rose was a delightful and welcoming host. The room was extremely clean. The place is situated just a few minutes walk from everywhere you'd want to be in Port Hope. The breakfast was gourmet and delicious and Rose was able to accommodate our vegan and vegetarian diets.
Breakfast was good, though the hotel was impacted by supply chain issues so some items weren't available. Easy access to the hotel, especially for my Dad who has some mobility issues. All in all a good stay. the hotel was able to provide a bath seat upon request.
Stayed here with my son for a local hockey tournament. Staff was friendly, beds were comfortable, breakfast was well stocked and staffed. Facilities are a little run down, but for a short stay at a reasonable price this hotel provides the basics.
The hairdryer in our room didn’t work. And as I stood at the front desk to tell her, another woman came to complain about the same thing in her room. The staff arranged for me to use a hairdryer in another room
Good hotel breakfast; wonderful helpful staff and a new little range of snacks available for purchase. Parking convenient and very clsoe to the door. The pool was good too!
