Very quiet room, and very comfortable bed, and pillow. I could sleep very well. Breakfast was small, but it was enough. Self check-in was perfect, because I could only come late at night.

Owner run hands on . Great hotel well situated. Friendly staff. A great find for us clise to station and all the spots.
A very pretty town, with lovely crisp fresh air. Fabulous selection of shops from fashion to food. Friendly and welcoming cafes and restaurants. Particularly like the pretty main square. Overall a feeling of safety and cleanliness.

Great wee town.
Great wee town. The centre was beautiful, as were the surrounding views. We ate at a local wee German restaurant and they seemed surprised we never booked! getting around Brig was easy...just walk, it's not that big. We would have loved to have explored distant villages, but we had no personal transport. We'd come back and explore more.

Brig is a central town within the Rhone valley.
Brig is a central town within the Rhone valley. It represents a train junction both east to west and north to south allowing access to the cities of Bern & Milan. The town is quite and has a few shops and restaurants which only stay open for a short time in the evening. The centre of the town is car free so peaceful to walk around at night. Brig offers transport links by both bus and train to many of the ski resorts in the area. Be aware that travel by train to Zermatt to see the Matterhorn cost 150CF for two people. Drinks & food are expensive in the town but it is safe and pleasant to walk around. There are numerous walks along the river and into the hillside.

Good location in Switzerland, with direct trains from Zürich...
Good location in Switzerland, with direct trains from Zürich and Geneva airports and Basel SBB station (a bus goes from Basel airport to Basel SBB), just over an hour by train from Berne. Good hiking opportunities, for example from nearby Naters up to Blatten and further up to Belalp.

Honestly, there isn't much to do here.
Honestly, there isn't much to do here. I stayed here because it's where the Glacier Express ended. I would not recommend it at a destination but if you need a place to spend the night in this area, it is fine.

Not much in Brig apart from the Stockalper.
Not much in Brig apart from the Stockalper. But it has a small and attractive old town centre, amazing views up to the mountains if weather is clear and, primarily, this is a very good place as a base for travelling by train to other parts of Switzerland on day trips and likewise it is only 30 minutes by train from Italy.
The room was excellent with plenty of space and we had an extra bed set up for our child. This did not make the room cramped. Our room had a lovely terrace which seemed to be about four times the size of everyone else's balcony, so we were very lucky! Great coffee machine. Proper hairdryer. All brilliant. The location of the hotel is absolutely brilliant. Very easy to reach from the train station. Staff gave us an adapter plug to use as none of our European ones would fit. That was excellent and really appreciated. Thanks for a great stay!
The location on the upper edge of Old Town was excellent with quick access to restaurants and cafes. The breakfast buffet was very good and had large choice. The view from my balcony was probably the best of any hotel in the city. The manager (Ulf) was very pleasant and provided helpful suggestions about where to hike and what to see (and spoke excellent English). There was an elevator to my room on the second floor of the comparatively new building attached to the original.
Breakfast was excellent - home-made muesli, home-made preserves and home-made bread as well as a selection of cheeses and cooked meats... The room was great - twice the size of most hotel rooms, with a view over the nearby castle towers and of the mountains (of course)! The location was great - only three minutes' walk from a choice of restaurants and five minutes from the main shopping and eating area of Brig.
Location was only a couple blocks from the train station and Bahnhofstrasse where there are lots of shops and restaurants. The staff is professional and available for questions. The hotel has a restaurant serving typical Swiss cuisine and has a daily menu in addition to the regular menu. By Swiss standards it was reasonably priced and excellent.
Nice room - spacious, large tub, plenty of room to sort luggage. Bed was comfy. Breakfast was good. Location was great - next to old castle in the old part of town. We sat in the old plaza in front of the hotel to have a glass of wine and people watch. The owner was very welcoming - nice to talk with him. Short walk to the train station.
Perfect breakfast with a wonderful host.
Location was so convenient for the train - right across the street.
The owner was very friendly and gave us great suggestions for dinner options. Would definitely stay there again if I am in Brig or the area for skiing.
Nice hotel next to the train station, very quiet, very efficient and very clean like Switzerland always is. The building has more than 100 years of history as a hotel! The breakfast was really good. Completely quiet in the night.
Staff were really friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The room was beautifully clean and the bed so comfy. Dinner was delicious as was breakfast. Location and public transport to the hotel was so easy. Definitely recommend
Location is super, walking distance from the train station to the hotel. Also very close to the castle. The room is very nice and clean.
Staff are all very friendly. The breakfast is simple and nice.
The price was affordable, considering the cost of everything in Switzerland. The people there seemed nice, although we didn't have a lot of interaction as we stayed for only one night.
Perfect location, a bit dated but in a relaxing way. The hotel had everything we needed for a stay overnight with our bikes. Really comfortable bed and perfect room temperature.
A place to stay while visiting Brig. They offer free on-sight parking. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the train station to visit Zermatt. Very friendly staff!
